sma01 Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 In past few weeks have had complaints from neighbours who live in the street which leads onto mine about the noise of my car, and to say i am p*ssed off about it is an understatement. Happened for a second time last nite when i got home from being out with the boys, some silly cow starts mouthing off about me revvin the car at all hours etc, which was a load of rubbish as the car was ticking over, and i was in the garage makin room to get car in.....had a few heated words, but i am sick of hearing it .......so...... ......as sunday night is a normal night for heading up to falkirk with the cars, wondered if any fellow owners fancy dropping by my house with the scoobs to MAKE SOME NOISE I'll start of the list as I got a couple of recruits who aint able to log on: 1. SMA01 2. P1SUB 3. Swiggi 4. Scott P1
Johnny50 Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 1. SMA01 2. P1SUB 3. Swiggi 4. Scott P1 5. The G Unit 6. Johnny50 Bring it on....hate moaning neighbours.

billyboy Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 While im up for a larf and all that.I dont think annoying your neebours is a good idea. They'll end up phoning the polis.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 i think it could look like this ??????? but i think it's not a good idea ! They'll urinate on your bonnet and put bananas up yer Blitz
dougster Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Hardly something the club condones. It could cause you further grief in the future as well.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 not the best idea IMHO you do that.........their next move????........................Police!!!! your next move.................producer for decat etc after they have ripped your car apart. Or worse still the way things are going, getting told your exhaust is illegal and all the sh1t that goes with it. But hey it's your call, if you can live with the grief then go for it!!!!
sma01 Posted July 9, 2005 Author Posted July 9, 2005 TBH, folk seem to be quick to point out that I am going to annoy people, but its ok for folk to annoy me??i take a great deal of pride in my car, and dont see why i should hide and only drive my car at times other folk think i should......i take my time in the street, keep the noise down as much as is possible with a scooby, yet still there are hot heads who want to shout abuse at me just cos of the car i drive....... I do admit that the post heading may be a bit harsh, but most of the guys who are coming round are mates(sorry Johnny 50 - you are the only 1 i aint met yet from the list), and have had 4 or 5 of them at my house on a couple of occassions with their cars..... I was not trying to arrange an unauthorised meet and certainly was not looking to tarnish the name of the club, but i dont see why it seems to cause offence to people that i ask some of the guys round with their cars, would you all have the same response if i invited folk round who were driving a vw golf for example.....??i think not.... anyone who wants to come round is more than welcome, we will do what we normally do anyway, talk scoobies and mods....... Scott
MS S6CUB Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Well said Scott - I mean, should we be desciminated against because our cars make a bit of noise? Actually - for any future get togethers - only invite your mates with quiet cars to keep the neighbours happy
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 << i think it could look like this ??????? but i think it's not a good idea ! They'll urinate on your bonnet and put bananas up yer Blitz >> Peeps - note I do not condone this either...........the piccy i attached was from this rather famous thread
ANDYJDMSTI Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 << would you all have the same response if i invited folk round who were driving a vw golf for example.....?? Scott >> with your thread title you probably would get the same sort of response. Most of the peoples comments were not angled to imply you are being an ar$e but just trying to point out the larger implications that you could face by winding these people up. i dont know where you live but there are plenty of people out there that would probably take great pleasure in taking their frustrations out on your car or get authorities involved..................thats all!!! Just trying to keep you as hassle free as possible by sharing our views At the end of the day the majority of us like our cars noisey (some more than others ) Don't rise to them and bite the bullet...........
ScoobyAndy Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 << Don't rise to them and bite the bullet........... >> well said Andy just ignore them, hopefully they'll get bored soon
sma01 Posted July 10, 2005 Author Posted July 10, 2005 Andy, i get where you are coming from mate, just p*ssed off that everytime i drive my car into my street, no matter what time it is, the same people from 2 different houses in the next street feel the need to either shout abuse from their window or come into my street and shout abuse and make accusations which are absolute $hite..... end of the day, car aint goin to get any quieter, i aint sellin it, so these muppets will just have to deal with it
st3ph3n Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 IF the car is legal and meets noise standards then you clearly have nothing to worry about. If these people are genuinely threatening then perhaps some sort of action against them is required. Even just a letter explaining your point of view to them. Not a strongly worded threat of your own, just explaining your opinions, and that your car is perfectly legal. If that doesn't stop them then council, police, ASBO, something like that would be the next step. If it was you that was in the Kincardine shell at the same time as me on the way to KH for the trackday last month - I was in the 54 WRX that tailed you onto the M876 then into the petrol station - then I wouldn't have said your car was particularly loud. Especially compared to some of the beasts on display that day.
sma01 Posted July 10, 2005 Author Posted July 10, 2005 think that was me mate, car was off boost and being taken v gently, had a brand new turbo on it and no map had a few more mods since then also, sounds a completely different car altogether, espec since last thu
