jamie_wood Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 << Ps I though you and Matt might have been at the hot marques last night, now I know why and my condolences to Ally) >> Many thanks
imprezapete Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I agree this thread does affect us. It also affects what we do with our cars, I for one am sick of this whole thing. I feel for Jamie and his fellow Auchterarder towns people, also its going to have a big affect tomorrow in Edinburgh and northwards to Auchterarder as I have seen a few reports of new road blocking tactics around Edinburgh, city bypass, airport, forth road bridge, roads up and around Auchterarder. Looks like its going to be a fun day tomorrow This G8 event sucks

weeb Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 i went to perth yesterday, place is heaving with cops, saw a six van convoy of riot vans from durham police force, traffic cop galore, cameras must have been switched off, sn@@per never picked them up!! police on every brigde, choppers flying over too, cops in fields everywhere!!! Mental, shpuld see the fence around the golf course, massif, cops on horse back too!!!
imprezapete Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I work in the sighthill area of edinburgh, I see about 10-15 Police vans/riot vans going past my work about 1-2 times a day. Sometimes with sirens going !
andy Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I'm presuming a load of them must be bunking at Tulliallan. Tons of them going through Kincardine last night. Metropolitan Police bikes, Leicestershire cars and a convoy of 10 yellow mobile cctv vans on the M9 this morning. We've even got them patrolling Edinburgh Park. Dread to think what it's costing us taxpayers. Why cant they do these things on an ocean liner in the middle of the Atlantic or something?
st3ph3n Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Pete, I used to work down in Broomhouse, those vans must have went past me 2 minutes after they went past you. I do miss sniper's alley. We've had 4 or 5 choppers overhead today. Which is 4 or 5 more than I've ever heard here before, I'm about 3 miles outside of Kincardine. Infact as I type another one is just going over. Noisy too.
ScoobyAndy Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 << Why cant they do these things on an ocean liner in the middle of the Atlantic or something? >> i totally agree. id like to see the trouble making do-gooders try to cause havock in the middle of the atlantic.. maybe even on an ice cap somehwere in antartica would be even better.
corsa Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Just seen two apache gunship ( i believe) helipoppers fly over Rutherglen on the south side of glasgow No doubt heading for the seaside at Ayreshire.
ScoobyAndy Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 << Just seen two apache gunship ( i believe) helipoppers fly over Rutherglen on the south side of glasgow >> ooooo that sounds more like it
andy Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Apaches are for pussies. We want Stealth Bombers! Not heard any more about this US aircraft carrier Bush is supposed to have moored off the west coast.
jamie_wood Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Here we go then! Hold on everyone! Good luck everyone
Gumball Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 mental i saw 4 horse box police lorries, 12 riot vans, 2 chinooks and a platoon of US marines all heading towards perth this morning.
Scoobylav Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Thought I would take a drive to Stirling this morning - oh look I can't cause the A9 is shut. From Perth to the other side of Stirling FFS There were a few apache gunships around first thing COOOL
imprezapete Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Edinburgh central near grid lock, bypass hit as well for time and riots and marches everywhere!!!! Dam people
st3ph3n Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Took me an extra 45 minutes to get to work this morning. M80 was shut, so everyone getting shoved on the M876 where I wanted to go, then the Kincardine bridge was jammed up. There was a queue from the bridge right back to my work, on the other side of the gartarry roundabout, so about 4 miles. Plus the queue at that roundabout was coming from 3 different sides. It was taking people who live literally 3 or 4 miles from work almost an hour to get here.
andy Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 I fly out to Italy tomorrow. From PRESTWICK - and I have to get there from Kincardine
