DAZ1999 Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Just like to say, got a Forge dump valve and a Superchip from Falklands today and my car has never been better. :0) very happy scooby driver. Daz
ormiboy Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 i would install a knocklink mate, just to be on the safe side.
BriWRX Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Hi Darren, It was good seeing you yesterday at Falkland, and i am glad you are happier now, but just think when you get your boost problem sorted then you will be even happier. If you want to go to Dastek then check out this link, as there is a spare slot, Dastek Rolling Road Brian.
DAZ1999 Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 Hi Brian Yes I enjoyed the banter yesterday. Got car back today and i'm v impressed, however I have booked it to go back on Wednesday morning to the boost problem sorted (well thats what they think it might be but still to check) Kevin said the car should be a lot faster butsaid i would still be impressed despite it running at 6 boost!!!!...... So I'm looking forward to getting it properly fixed then I'll c a big difference. Even raced a STI version 2 model today and kept up with it!! I'm gonna check the Dastek tour and see if I can get my name on list. cheers Daz
dougster Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 "Even raced a STI version 2 model today" Not the kind of thing the SIDC or ScottishScoobies condone. And what is '6 boost'?
DAZ1999 Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 Never knew Track days are not permitted by Scottish Scoobies. Meant to say bar 6 not boost 6!
jasonb Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 i think you mean 6psias 6 bar would be about 80psi good stuff mate you should notice a big difference when you get the boost up
fai17 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 << Never knew Track days are not permitted by Scottish Scoobies. Meant to say bar 6 not boost 6! >> you could have said"i was following a sti v2and kept up no probs" do you know whats wrong because your car is only running with only 6 psi of boost?
DAZ1999 Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 Well, Falkland say it only running 6psi but should be sitting around 11 or 12 (thats standard). However, when I got the chip installed it was considerably faster! But Falkstand states it still should be a lot faster and weren't too sure what it might be without having a proper look at it. So I got my car booked in this Monday morning to get it sorted, they think it might be a boost problem. Whilst installing the chip the noted some of the pipe work leading towards the turbo and out of it weren't connected up properly but thats now sorted. So obviously the car hasn't been well looked after by the previous owner. I look forward to getting it sorted on Monday morning as they say it should be faster than what it currently is even with the chip installed. Daz

dougster Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 For your information 'racing' is not allowed on track days either!!!
jasonb Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 << For your information 'racing' is not allowed on track days either!!! >> I thought the whole track day thing was to take your car on the track and have some fun i.e race people???? If this is not the case P.s i am not being nasty or trying to start an argument
dougster Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Trackdays are designed to let the driver experience the ability of his/herself and their car within the confines of a safe environment. "Vehicles shall be driven round the Circuit in a clockwise direction only, and reckless driving and racing with other vehicles entitled to use the Circuit are expressly forbidden" Timing of laps is also forbidden. If you have any other questions I suggest you contact me via PM or try giving Ian at Knockhill a call and speak to him!!
jasonb Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Thanks for that never had it explained to me before. And as i said i wasent trying to start an argument or be nasty
dougster Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 No problem Jason. Not everyone is fully aware of the guidelines. I'll look into having them made avaliable on the forums.
