~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 As usual :- 7.30 kick off.......... Should get daylight till about 2130 hrs now Clicky for their website Cheers Cal ************************************************************************************************ Guys - I have posted this early to see if any peeps are up for a mini run @ sensible pace to enjoy the twisties for 45 mins ? Dunno about you guys but in the summer it kills me sittin' inside a pub chattin' about Scoobies when we could be driving em' Yes the banter & exchange of knowledge is good but lets liberate the drivers in us Any takers or is this as popular as a fart in an elevator ? Even if we meet at the pub - drive for a while / have a drink / then drive for a wee bitty again ? Cheers
johns Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 Cal, daylight until about 22:30 at this time of year I was out doing work in the back garden last night until about 22:10!! See you all there! John

Carl Davey Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 No reason why i shouldn't be there. Not too sure on the run idea. Judging purely by the recent police presence i think it'd be a better idea to organise a run on a different day (i.e. not the first Tuesday of the month) and nowhere near the OMI.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 28, 2005 Author Posted May 28, 2005 This run willbe different ( Im pissed the noo) We will be in JohnS mode ! I will talk to any cops as I'm a great diplomat ! This will be twist enjoyment with no nonsense Err..I wll rpely in the am Peace out Cheers ave we got an emoticn 4 hiccup ?????????? good njight dudes !
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 28, 2005 Author Posted May 28, 2005 Back now and sober .......... Who says we can't go out for a sensible run and enjoy the corners & exhaust notes ! We can actually foster a good relationship with the Northern feds by driving sensibly and positively engaging with them if we encounter them. You may as well sell your car unless you ditch that mindset C'mon Kiljoy, you have a lovely whip so drive it like it was intended ! Cheers Cal p.s I do appreciate your concerns though
Carl Davey Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 I may have come across as negative but i just can't see the local force being positive about a brood of Scoobs out for a run, within speed limits/driving sensibly or not. I'd like to think we could build a relationship with them and am not exactly anti-police myself having charmed my way out of the back of many police cars. I just can't help but remember back to what happened to the Scottish Elises a few months ago? I know you're not a lunatic Cal and i'm not sitting here picturing a scene from The Fast & The Furious NE Scotland style. I just can't help but feel we're asking for trouble going out in groups on that particular eveing in Aberdeenshire being as the local force are aware of the meet. Grampian Police do respond to reports of 'dangerous' driving... Any other night sits fine with me.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 29, 2005 Author Posted May 29, 2005 Fairdoos Carl - yer probably right ............ Could we not hire Alford for a night for some fun ( too late to organise now but a thought for the future) Can't wait for the Northern meet @ Alford bty
