O/T Silverstone Yesterday BMW F1 Testing

Had a fantastic day at the track yesterday as guests of BMW F! team,great day great corporate hospitality and very wet.

Oh and the noise,just fantastic in real life.

That suspension is a work of art. Very suprised that they let you get that close taking piccies.

Nice pictures. That suspension is really a work of art, and used to create downforce too if I'm not mistaken.

I've been to a CART race down at rockingham, and that was a pretty feersome noise.

But I don't think you can beat the noise I heard when I went to see the Nascar at Daytona. 40 Big block V8 ultra-low tech Nascar engines being floored at the same time and all thundering past about 30 yards from your face. The earth was literally moving.

Looks like a great day. I had a tour of the Mclaren factory a few years back and that was quite an eye opener. There was carbon lying around EVERYWHERE!! They let us lift up the cockpit monocoque and you could lift it with one finger !!

The noise from these beasts has to be heard to be appreciated. I assume you had earplugs in if you were that close !!

2559b, belive it or not the bottom arm of an F1 car is somewhere in the region of £18,000.00

How did i get there well my mates cousin is the transport manager of British American Tobacco (BAT) and they have just bought a $hitload of BMWs from Pendragon ( a big dealer down south) and they had tickets for the day so passed them onto him.

Ironically one of my mates is a gearbox technician with BAR!!!
