sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 as per title, car currently runs with PPP, and is having the downpipe replaced in favour of a Hayward and Scott downpipe, which will give the car a full de-cat..... what do i go for next??
jamie_wood Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Errrm, if your de cating, a re map would be advisable, as its an STI Apart from that, its all down to how you want to go about "modding" How about fitting a Knocklink, Lambda link??
sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 what sort of cost would I be looking at for an ECU remap and wheres the best place to go?? was advised that a knocklink might not be worth getting, or would that be something that i should be thinking about?? excuse my ignorance, but could you possibly explain what the lambda link does?
spooks Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Andy F remap would be next if your running a decat IMHO Spooks
robinh20mrv Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 imho........panel aiir filter, knocklink, walbro 255 fuel pump, hyperflow top mount intercooler, and of course a gems ecu from andy f
sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 from what you are all telling me, think i might hold of a wee bit longer before getting the decat so I can get the ECU done at same time...... are there any less expensive mods to keep me going in the mean time??
john_robertson Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Knocklink, worth getting lets you know of det, then as said before re-map + de-cat, personnally I was wondering whata remap would do on top of the PPP stuff already there? John.
sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Mr NTS - wouldnt mind knowing that too if anyone can shed any light....
sti-zlv Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I am running a Sti8 PPP which I had de-catted about 3 months ago, re-map is a must or you suffer from boost spiking in gears 5 & 6. Mine is booked in with Andy F. Knocklink is a good idea as well, I have one on the way. Better to be safe than sorry, whan your talking about re-build Matt
sma01 Posted April 4, 2005 Author Posted April 4, 2005 Matt, did you buy your car with the strut braces already fitted??do they make much differnece to the car?
