st3ph3n Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I've read it a few times, but I don't know what it is. Cheers.
the squiggle Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 It is when the fuel sloshes* about in the tank under heavy cornering, accel or braking and the fuel pump pick up cannot maintain a steady supply of fuel. A very common occurance out of the hairpin at Knockhill with under half a tank. * technical term Grant
st3ph3n Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 You're a legend mate. I take it this would be the little jolt I feel when I lift off when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd whilst giving it some with only about 10 litres left in the tank? Not that I usually get that far without refilling, with the crazy fuel gauge and its seemingly random markings.
the squiggle Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Try and keep her above half a tank if any major accelaration, braking or cornering is expected. Prior to the jolt the fuel supply drops thus leaning out the mixture being ignited, not good if your giving it some stick. Grant
