murray_marshall Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Extract from the P&J "But the court heard that Mr MacGregor's Subaru Impreza WRX was a "grey import" from Japan and was therefore fitted with an electronic speed limiter - a legal requirement in its country of origin. The court was told that although cars of this type were usually capable of high speeds and were often used for rallying, this one was not because it had been built for the Japanese market." Aparently he was clocked at 132mph despite his car not being capable of exceeding 107mph, and he was cleared ! While not condoning speeding, and it was not proven he was speeding, would anyone else not have had this restrictor removed. CT
ormiboy Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 great idea!!!! im off to farbicate a fairy liquid bottle into a speed restriction device, after ive installed it under my bonnet no court in the land could find me guilty i think mine will be limited to 70mph tho that should throw a spanner in the legal systems works
