wrxmania Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Hey all, Whatever happened to the original idea of a Scottish Events/Forthcoming Events section attached to Scottish Scoobies. I notice there is one for Kent Scoobies. Was discussed recently at a meet IIRC. Is it possible to have this, where all meets, runs in the country, trackdays etc could all be gathered, particularly useful for Newbies? This should possibly go into suggestions. Anyone else think this would be a useful addition to the Scottish Scoobies section? Brian
dougster Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Jeezus Brain, give us a chance!!! I am compiling an events calendar as we speak!! Would people like the list to include other non-scooby events like Top Marques/Hot Snatch/Rallies/Hill Climbs etc? P.S. where's the Kent one? P.P.S. I vote the same as Phil..........................I love Brain as well!!!!!!!!
wrxmania Posted February 15, 2005 Author Posted February 15, 2005 Nice to see you all fight over your love of me
john_robertson Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 << Nice to see you all fight over your love of me >> Now that is worrying John.
Scoobylav Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Dougster - I think it would be useful to see other non scooby related events my only concern would be how this would be moderated and who would be responsible for keeping it up to date.
dougster Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I know what you mean Ian, but we could look at including some of the bigger events of the year. Rallies, trackdays, KH Motorfair etc NBO, TOTB, JAE etc could also be added.
phil Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Remember we do have a CLUB events list on the website which does include all the major events as we get the details through
wrxmania Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 My original thought, and those of others, was simply to include events such as Edinburgh meet, Glasgow meet, plus any driving runs and national meets in Scotland like the Scottish National Day etc. The other large events listed in the events calendar would not need to be doubled up. Localised meets to Scotland etc are what I believe should be in it, not necessarily things like Doune Hillclimb etc. Brian
dougster Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I feel a diary that could include other events would help us organise SIDC days without the overlap??? Keep the ideas and votes for Brain coming please!!! I know of one site (cough) that has a calendar but it's just full of birthdays. Useful!!!! NOT!!
Stiks Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 How do you vote 4 times for the last option Brian. More aliases over here too mr Blobeye !
wrxmania Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 Surprisingly, not once have I voted for myself
phil Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Haven't a clue what your talking about ......................................................
jamie_wood Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Phil, is your scooby the same as this??? Its a white one
phil Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 LOL Sorry shouldn't abuse my powers But what the hell
jamie_wood Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Hands up who thinks Blue is pants............
wrxmania Posted February 17, 2005 Author Posted February 17, 2005 Don't worry Phil, abuse is welcome. The Scots are used to it
dougster Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 That movie angers the life out of me. As an adopted Scot who has lived his entire life in Glasgow, even I am abhored at the casting of that Aussie midget in the leading role. The part should have gone to Billy Connolly or my mate Tommy Flannigan who also features in the film. (both of whom I will not be sitting with on Sunday!!! )
