the squiggle Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 After washing the car at the Shell station. I was returning along the local road that connects Hillington and Paisley, about a mile long with a right angle left at the end and a junction on the right about 100yds before the right angled left hander, a road i know well as i use it to test the car so to speak. I was travelling about 60 odd on a light peddle, i seen a 406 waiting to come out of the junction, about 20 yds before the juction he pulled out right in front of me. OOOOOHHHHHH SSSSSHHHHHHIIIITTTTT. I hit the brakes, they locked up, not good i am going right into the back of him, off the brakes gently turn, now not going to hit the 406, now i am going to hit the Chevron square on, off the brakes again and turn, just missed the Chevron marker board and end up in field. Initial inspection from the inside reveals that the pax mirror glass is gone, car still running in a field facing the wrong way. THE GUY IN THE 406 STOPPED AND GESTURED TO ME THAT HE ENJOYED MASTERBATION. You F*cking what, he thinks i was in the wrong, this guy must think that i was trying to overtake him on a 90 degree left hander. I could not get out the field the way i had entered said field and the 406 was pulling away. By the time i found the way out he had b*ggered off into the blue yonder. Got the car back home to survey the damage. n/s/r door scrape, n/s/f door scrape, n/s/r wheel arch scrape, n/s wing mirror glass destroyed, half a fence post though the lower grill, radiator bent by said fence post but not leaking. NO damage to the sump or anything crucial underneath. Could have been a lot worse if i had hit him up the chuff or if i had hit the chevron sign square on. doesnt look too bad grill and fence post dont mix mirror glass destroyed and scrape down side this is where i was when the 406 pulled out this is what i squeezed the scooby through at about 20-30mph. the better of the 3 options New radiator, near side wing mirror, rear wheel arch drawn back into shape and some panel beating on the near side rear door. I will get a day off work to trawl it round some local bodyshops. All comments about my driving style welcomed and duly ignored as this is my first accident in 10 years and nearly 750000 miles of driving. P*ssed off Squirrel but i will still be at the meet at Glasgow tomorrow. Now thats commitment to you lot See you lot tomorrow for everyone to have a laugh at the Squirrel Grant
wrxmania Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 I will make no comments - been there Hope you get it all sorted out and looks like a fairly lucky escape. Should not cost too much in comparison to some near misses See you on Monday night. Brian HUGE pictures BTW! Especially like the sideways ones.
colinj Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Ouch never nice to see a damaged car....especially a scooby! Would have been worse if you hit the 406 or the road sign tho, hope you get it all fixed up soon buddy.

the squiggle Posted January 30, 2005 Author Posted January 30, 2005 << LMAO at the 406 driver 'GESTURED TO ME THAT HE ENJOYED MASTERBATION' - The cheeky F.er! I think that would have just pushed me over the edge - the scooby wouldnt be the only bashed thing in that field! >> Unfortunatly i could not get out the field the way i had entered, if i could have then i would have killed him. When i started to move he scarperd pretty god damn quickly and by the time i found the exit he was well gone Grant
