dougster Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 As many of you are aware I have been fighting ex-employers for a while and finally came to a settlement with them in December which legally I cannot go into. Now the bills need paid and jobs have been very thin on the ground and I'm still waiting to do my HGV(classII) soon via a European Enterprise funded course. I have applied for countless jobs and only one has replied...............a certain famous car dealer from Scotland!!!! What should I do guys. All I hear is horror stories but it will be better than selling the house???!!!??? 60 hours a week £8100 basic with uncapped potential.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 gotta go for it Doug.......................as you say it's better than selling the house so you have really sort of answered it yourself.
johns Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Go for it. You can always consider it a temporary refuge until something better comes up.
ozzy Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Go for it Dougster. Any jobs only as secure as your notice period anyway. At least it's work until you sort something better out for yourself.
dougster Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 Cheers lads. Does anyone have a copy of THAT website regarding this dealer? Please PM me for my perusal!!!

CAZ1562 Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Pride is a bitter pill to swallow Dougster but a job is a job. If I were you I'd take the job with the said car dealer until something else comes along.
ozzy Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Someone PM me the dealer and website - lost in the dark here as usual or at the very least, pass me some matches so I can find my way out
scuba dou Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Like said above already, a job is a job to keep you going D...would not hesitate But it is dark in here: I need the swan-vesta as well

Carl Davey Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 I can only assume this is one of the central belt import traders or similar?

dougster Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 "I have applied for countless jobs and only one has replied..............." Remember they have only asked me in for an interview but at this rate..............
Carl Davey Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Oh dear... i do not see the shame in naming them though? Like i said Doug, go for it mate.
p1ggm Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 I have heard the salemen make a s#!tload, and the mechanics all have to work very very quickly to meet targets and get the bonuses house or pride??????? i would do anything if it came to it... so if anyone wants a good time with a fat bloke call me on ....0898 scoobieguyforrent
ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 never was any good at give us a clue..................something to do with that quentin Lionel Blair!!!!! put me out ma misery and pm me who it is
Grovit Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 Dougster - cash is king. Take the job, see how it goes and then review your options. Personally, I'd shovel s***e if i had to, to pay the mortgage and put food on the table. I'm not saying that's what I'd want to do - but if it came to that.............. Good luck mate.
