neilswrx
who around the aberdeen area(ish)could map this for me? (apexi power fc) is it possible to even travel, albeit off boost(?) to someone nearby after fitting or swop out there and then thanks Link to comment
~ ~ Cal ~~
You could try here ? Wallace Performance ? I believe this may save you trekking elsewhere but no doubt the guys from Abx will know more ? Cal Link to comment
the squiggle
Edinburgh is not that far from Aberdeen. AndyF would be my first port of call Grant Link to comment
~ ~ Cal ~~
I have heard that he is the chosen one - seen him mentioned in a few magazines too Link to comment
Carl Davey
Andy Forrest will travel but it costs £200 to get him to Aberdeenshire. Me and David Sim (simbo on here) split the travelling costs the last time and he did us both in a day. I'll be going down to Edinburgh the next time though as the changes are less subtle but will still be driving off-boost etc. Link to comment
GrantyBoy
AndyF in Edinburgh or John the Dentist in Dundee. Link to comment
WUZ
Sam is more adept at the GEMS system. Used to run a LINK ecu in his MY99 UK Turbo and I think he still maps them (I know I do!) Personally I have encountered certain people (Jools will know who I mean ) who have had their car mapped "too far o the edge" by Sam and have blown turbos and clutches! Good knowledge but doesn't know when to stop. AndyF is your man for now (I've got some DATALOGIT SOFTWARE coming in Feb, hopefully!) Russell Link to comment
Chris_B
Totally agree with you Wuz. Sam is more known for his Evo (mainly gems) work rather than impreza's. Link to comment
neilswrx
got a price from wallace £350 ish for 5 hours plus rollin road is this good or would andy f be a bit cheaper thanks for the replies so far,and how to contact him ta Link to comment
the squiggle
I think Andy does the Apexi PowerFC fitted and mapped for £700 if you go to him. Higher if he has to travel to you. The £350 remap sounds like a reprogramme of your existing ECU. Grant Link to comment
Robertio
If 350 is including RR use then it is very cheap, if as I suspect (and how I read your post) the RR use is on top of this it could be as much again, which isn't quite so cheap. No idea how much Andy is, but it's not unusual to look at 100 an hour plus RR hire for mapping. Russell, have fun many, many hours of tweaking are yours to enjoy with a datalogit Link to comment
neilswrx
already have the power fc but not fitted yet ,that,s why i thought about the aberdeen area as i could(correct me if i,m wrong ) fit the power fc unit, trundle upto wallace performance and let them remap it /or the maestro remaps it near home beleive you me i coulnae find the forth road bridge if i tried i,d end up in wales so thought this the easier route thoughts thanks Link to comment
Chris_B
iirc Andy is £180 to map the ecu. Link to comment
Carl Davey
Yup, £180 for the Andy.F remap. I'd plug in the ECU, chuck in copious amounts of OB (Apexi ECU's are all designed for JDM STi's running 101RON fuel) and toddle down to Edinburger. Easiest and cheapest way IMO. This suits Andy alot better and you'll find it alot easier to book a date with him if you do this. If you want to wait until the end of Feb/beginning March time i'll be able to show you the road down. Link to comment
WUZ
Neil - assuming your car is a wrx, this should be OK. The UK cars have the CAM sensor and CRANK sensor(AFAIK!) wired differently so they need the wiring sorted to fit a Power FC. Russell Link to comment
Highlander68000
<< AndyF is your man for now (I've got some DATALOGIT SOFTWARE coming in Feb, hopefully!) Russell >> You big kid. (I've got mine Expect to pay import duty on it too isgust BTW Neil, probably a safer bet to run to Edingburgh with your original ECU and swap it when you get there. It's only a 5 minute job. and It'll save you a good bit on fuel and OB costs. Link to comment
