Marky-San Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Hello chaps, Just wondered if anyone knew some good outlets that I could use for a quote for 4 new tyres around Motherwell - Glasgow sort of areas. And if that wasnt enough - a tel no or website address? Cheers, Marky
ozzy Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 What about the place in Cumbernauld? ... Jim Dicksons or something Cooper Bros in Newmains, but they gave me stupid prices in the past. Remember 50% mark-up on tyres, so bagger them.
the squiggle Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Motorsport wheels out in Cambuslang are the main distributers of Toyo tyres. They dont normally sell to the general public but if you tell them you are a self employed mechanic it will work out. The last time i bought 17's for the Honda and they were only £55 each as opposed to £100 from Hi-Q. Grant
Grovit Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Just bought a Toyo T1s from Motorsport wheels this morning (well - my wife did - I'm in Milton Keynes just now) Excellent service and consistantly good prices - give 'em a try Marky - (tel: 0141 643 3900)
dougster Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Grovit, did your wife just call them direct? I need a toyo as well!!
Marky-San Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 Cheers everyone for your responses I've got enough now to get me looking out there
Grovit Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Hi Doug - nope I arranged it myself. However, when I first spoke to them a couple of months back when I bought two other Toyos - I said they'd come recommended from TMS (a parts outlet in Airdrie - kind of like Partco) - said they'd come highly recommended and can they help. They did - and I'd recommend them to anyone - they won't always be the best on prices but they're competitive enough - good service though - took care of the alloys and even put on posh valves and valve caps. I think the head guy there is Alex..............
peter_macgowan Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Mytyres.co.uk are based in Glasgow, they quoted £96 for one Bridgestone Potenza R 11 and it cost me a tenner at HiQ to get it fitted. A saving of £25 from quotes from HiQ and National Tyres.
