p1ggm Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 thats a standard notice at the start...not my personal views, i would change it if i could
P1_Paul Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 TBH, I was thinking along the lines of creating your HTML page and hosting it somewhere with your grievance, then linking it. I do think SN and this board are being over cautious though, if you read' ArnoldSucks' and consider AC don't bother taking action, I hardly think a garage is going to go to the trouble contesting/taking to court a post on this forum!
robinh20mrv Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 hi m8s, there are a lot of cowboys out there, and we all know who they are, so lets just let the word spread via pms, meets ect...... john does a HUGE AMOUNT for sidc, and does not need or deserive any flak for stating the rules............... i do see both points here! cheers robin.
cameron_leask Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Paul From the Terms and conditions I linked to previously: "You agree that you will not use our forums to post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law." If you have a grievance then you should take it up with the supplier concerned, directly. Phil has already offered to contact dealers and/or third parties in the interests of facilitating an open conversation about the matter between supplier and consumer. If you feel this is inappropriate then you may wish to contact Subaru UK or International Motors, your Citizen's Advice Bureau, your MP, BBC Watchdog, or indeed your Solicitor. None of this removes the fact that the club has a duty of care with respect to what is published on our online services. Accordingly, f you wished to publish your own list of "grievances" online, then the club would have no ability to stop you from doing so, but if any SIDC forum user linked to that material from the SIDC forums then we may, at our sole discretion, choose to remove that link. This is also part of the Terms and Conditions, which I would encourage you to re-read.
P1_Paul Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 OK, still think you are being 'UBER' cautious though!

You will, therefore, be surprised to learn that it has been threatened more than once. For obvious reasons we treat the matter seriously, because, as you now know, we have a duty of care with respect to the material that is publish on our websites.
P1_Paul Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 www.arnoldsucks.com Wonder how many times he's been 'threatened'?
p1ggm Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 i have had a look at arnold sucks....and you are worried about a few dealerships have you read some of the comments and they help people by warning customers what they are dealing with... nice of you to join phil
p1ggm Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 just to remind people...here is my first post..... if someone expresses an opinoin about for example a bad service at a dealership??? is it slanderous?? i wouldent say so but as this is a subaru backed club then is it not pointless having forums, as i am unhappy with 3 yes THREE dealers in my surrounding area, but if i was to comment my post would be edited or deleted??? I dont think this is fair as people are being ripped off by subaru garages and there customer care in some garages is very very poor.
P1_Paul Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I can see there point though, they don't know your comments are in fact, fact! Still.......
malky Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 All right folks, we are looking for one last big push for prezzies for the Santa Cruz for the children of Yorkhill. Please remember that this is being run by Scottish members & next year we could be delivering toys to sick/under privileged kids in your area. We need all the Scottish members to dig deep to make it a good Christmas for the kids. PS I am high jacking all the threads as I feel quite disappointed that more members are not getting involved.
