MY94 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Hey all,can u help. Just got a puncture and I'm a bit skint.I have TOYO's on at the moment with plenty life left in them.I have three good tyres(Yokohama) from when this happened before and I replaced all four .I know should get two new Toyo's for the same axle when I get a puncture.........but I was wondering if it's OK to put two of the Yokohama's on? .....thus two Toyo's on the back and two Yoko's on the front?(at least until mid Jan when I've some cash again) What do u think?
jamie_wood Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 So long as the profile is the same you will be OK. Ie. 205#40#17 See what I mean?? Jamie
dougster Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I run a harder Falken on the nearside front at KH, the rest being Toyos. It has stayed on since my last outing and has given me no problems at all. Is it not the old cross-ply and a radial you don't mix!!! I remeber the advert from years ago!!
MY94 Posted November 27, 2004 Author Posted November 27, 2004 Great.......thats what i wanted to know.................thanks Jamie. (ps I met u at the AWD openday earlier this year, nice car, hope all is well with you, cheers for now.)
jamie_wood Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Yep, I remember you Matey Car is fine thanks. Jamie
spooks Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Would be OK to use but in my experiance the grip levels from differing tyres on the same axle can give some "interesting" results. Even having differant tyres front to rear gets a bit hairy on certain cars but overall it wont harm your car just be cautious of how it handles. Spooks
