Grumbler Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 can someone please tell me how often to change the oil and spark plugs etc?
Boyakasha Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Oil change every 6 months, use something like Motul 300V 15/50 Not sure about the sparks.
Carl Davey Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Marc, i need to have mine serviced soon and i want to use decent oil in it before i go for the magic three zero zero. I'm just wondering where you can buy it locally?
WUZ Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Carl - cannot get it in Aberdeen but Alyn at AS Performance can do it at a good price! I wouldn't recommend a 10/60 unless doing a lot of trackdays/ back road blasts, but fully synthetic 10/40 Millers CRS (group N rally stuff) is good. About £30 for 5 litres. Russell
Boyakasha Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Carl as Russ says try Alyn, I got 12 Litres of Motul from him. They were doing a sepcial deal where you got 6 Litres for the price of 4. Rgrds Marc
Power Junkie Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I could use some of that. maybe get a discount for a bigger order?
Chick Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Sounds like a plan, count me in if ya gonna go for a group buy? Not too keen on 10/60 either, am stickin with 10/40. I think thqat sparkplugs are meant to be changed every 2 yrs/24000 miles?
Oilman Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I personally wouldn't recommend an sae 60, it's really too thick and will generate excess heat in the summer or on the track. I recently did a "group buy" here and am prepared to do others. We recommend Silkolene PRO S 10w-50 or 5w-40 depending on usage, mods etc. It's also a very good "true" synthetic product which is thermally stable at high temperatures. Cheers Simon
Russs Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Wallace Performance sells the Millers Synthetic Russell mentioned
SIMBO Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 i thought the motul 15 w 50 was a better choice cheers david
