sKunk Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 I wasn't planning to but then I didn't know that there was a drift event on
derek_robertson Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Hi Peeps, Will probably head up on Sunday, see you there Link Del
DR Motosport Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Might head up to the banger racing myself, depends on the bridge traffic. Anti clockwise on Saturday, clockwise (normal way) on Sunday. Hairpin on Saturday should be good for all the cars with dodgy brakes. David
wrxmania Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 David, Nice description - Banger Racing as that is fairly accurate Brian
wrxmania Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 The drift king!!! You should be driving a BM mate - P.S. Thanks for the call - did you get my text! Brian
dougster Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Got the text Brian. Remember my car has the bumpsteer modification and the geo is set up for more rear end action. It seems to work don't ya think?
malky Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Does the SIDC not like being part of these events, I see they have club areas, should we not have a display ?
dougster Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 It's hot hatch weekend!! Chav tastic!!! We could have an SIDC hot tub? Anyone??
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 17, 2004 Author Posted September 17, 2004 i'm up for the hottub. just need to get some chicks now!!!!!!
DR Motosport Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Just a note to anyone heading over the Forth Road Bridge. Road works are cancelled this weekend. Don't know why, but good news anyway. David
wrxmania Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Said on the radio "Due to impending bad weather". David - I touch goats on Scoobynet, Brian.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 am gonna head over on sunday for a laugh
WRC No 1 Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 me and scoobymadburd are heading up 2moro. (wullie)
DR Motosport Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Anyone going tomorrow --------- Don't Bother. Utter crap, stayed a couple of hours then went home. 2 trade stands and nothing else. Guy trying to do stunts on a motorbike in the wet. Which he couldn't do. Plus a whole load of scrappy specials on track. So much for the festival weekend. So tomorrows plan is Moto Gp, then the Live Rally Stage, then the Ryder Cup. And NOT Knockhill. David
MY94 Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks I'm just in from work(3.17am)and was thinking about setting the alarm to get up and go to this. Now I think I'll stay in bed until the WRC comes on the telly at 2pm:-)
wrxmania Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 Good advice David, Was gonna head up but after that - forget it! Read it whe I go in last night. Looking forward to the Rally GB on the tele - been good so far - wish I was there Brian
the squiggle Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 Only went up to see my mate, Colin Greer, take the Scoob on the track in the Drift comp I taped the WRC on ITV arent i a smart cookie Hooray for Petter muffing wee Seb in his Xsara .. Grant PS - my thanks to the other half, Imy, for taking some of the photos... i got distracted cheering Colin on and boo-ing the others
WRC No 1 Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 i know grant what a turbo is but when u get sunday drivers it is hard 2 use it and when people pull out in front of u without using the orange things on the side of their cars i have 2 slow down and the surface spray didnt help . got some other pic of the day not just scoobys . well done 2 greer sport pulled off some nice drifts on the hair pin and the Dicksons scoob did well 2 win and cant 4 get the other scoob as well 4 trying. (wullie) p.s Next time i will close my window when im on the grass.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 20, 2004 Author Posted September 20, 2004 mmmm.....think i will close mine too
dougster Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 mmmm drifting looked fun!! No pics of Andy in the hot tub? Abd Grant get them resized to 640 x 480!!!
Bladerider Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Grant, nice pictures. You forgot to mention how cold it was. Colin Greer did well on his first 'drifting round the hairpin' run. He was the only one that seemed to be in full control of the car. He totally messed it up on his second run however. The 2000bhp 12 litre Chevy hot rod was awesome. The commentator said it was de-tuned to around 1000bhp to avoid too much wheel spin. I hope they bring back the 'miss hot tub' competitions for next year. It was quite disappointing not to see the dollybirds gettin' them out for the boys like they did last year.
