leon Posted September 20, 2004 Share Posted September 20, 2004 pele have you read what happened to the guys on the essex crew rolling road day? power engineering closed early and it took more then 15 mins for each car to be run and looks like some people actually got lower results then last time even though nothing was changed. i would just like to know how accurate are these rollers? << I got results along the lines of Fantom, previously at PE I got 314 bhp and 270 lbs/ft but today only got 288bhp and 254 lbs/ft torque. My car has never felt better than it currently does though, to say I'm confused is an understatement. >> looks like most people were about 10% down on power Link to comment
Pele Posted September 20, 2004 Author Share Posted September 20, 2004 I have spoken to PE today and have been assured that this will not happen to us - I will take everyones mobile number the week before and give you your time slots. I need everyone to turn up at least 1 hour before they run on the rollers. I do not leave PE until everyone has had their power run - therefore making sure they don't close before the last person has had their run....I've done 3 RR days here and never had any problems, I've always found the lads at PE very efficient & organised As for the rollers being accurate, I've had my car on 3 different sets of rollers, and PE's were the most consistent, which is why I don't run my car at any other rollers anymore - I'm up there Thursday so I will have a chat with them to make sure everything will go ok Link to comment

Also the hub rollers, although the most accurate, are a lot more expensive and take longer to set up, you'd be lucky to get 10 cars done... Link to comment

riceboy Posted September 23, 2004 Share Posted September 23, 2004 I had my car mapped by Abbey and they gave me a reading of 289bhp at the hubs. This would then equate to about 350bhp at the flywheel(approx 23% transmission loss) but when I ran on the PE rollers, I made 327bhp at the flywheel. Its probably best to just pick one set of rollers to get all your power runs. Link to comment
