  1. I have a 6 speed fitted to my 94 wrx. A local garage suplied and fitted it for me ( purchased from API) for about £2100. I had the prop from an auto, a 3.9 rear diff, the 6 speed box plus the linkage. UK 6 speed are like rocking horse poo! Best bet , as Tony says, is to ring API. Nathan

  6. Im after a pair of standard rear lights for my 94 wrx. Am looking to pay £20 ish for the pair. Will consider a trade for my lexus lights as im now after a change [] Nathan
  7. Had this on mine and it turned out to be the coil packs. My apexi boost solonoid also used to click when I had one fitted and so did my mates HKS boost controller. Nathan
  8. As you have an uprated clutch and a standard gearbox, a little bit of mechanical sympathy is needed. Hold the revs at about 5000rpm and try to slip the clutch slightly whilst pulling away. The clutch will be ok and should help keep the gearbox happier for longer ( I learnt this only after my 4th 5 speed was fitted! Now running 6 speed box[][H]) As for what mod next, I would advise that as you have an exhaust, filter and fmic already fitted, get an uprated fuel pump, an uprated fuel pressure regulator and some sort of ecu remap ( either using your ecu or fitting an aftermarket one) Hope this is of help to you. Nathan
  9. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This is very posh![][][H][6] Nathan

    BHP?

Early cars run between 220-240bhp in Japan. As your using a lower octane fuel, the car is probaly running between 210-230bhp. A new ecu, remapped for uk fuel, an exhaust and filter wil get you nearer the 260-280bhp mark. Nathan
  12. Gems ecu, air temp sensor, 3 bar map sensor and anti-lag switch for sale. £825ono. This sells for approx £1450 new. Nathan
  13. Good to hear the injuries were not too bad. May sound obvious but I see the tax doesn't run out til end of march. Its not much but send it back and you will be paid for the two full remaining months. Then use it to go buy some lottery tickets! Nathan
  14. Been to four garages now and all have said that the car will need a new roof. Have received one quote in the post, £1883. Have spoken to the painter involved and he said he is willing to pay for the repairs, be it cash or off of his public liability insurance. Nathan
  15. Cheers guys. I had a new screen fitted shortly after buying the car. It semed to be fitted with a mastic substance that was very sticky and the fitter tried to remove it without breaking it but it just would not come out. The bodyshop is well known locally and I have had lots of bits done here before and they do a top job. I will still get a couple of second opinions though. Nathan
  16. As some of may ahve read in an earlier post, I recently had a milk crate fall onto th roof of my car from the 3rd lift of a scaffold that was errected outside of where I live. I finally tracked down that it is the painter who is responsible. He told me he would pay and to get a quote from the garage. I went to the gagage today and the news shocked me (havent even told the painter yet!). The car needs a new roof skin. As the roof is quite flimsy, the garage will not knock out the dent and fill the as they say the vibrations of the car will evetualy crack the filler and they will never get the roof to look right and it will always look a bodge job.. I am now waiting for a written quote to remove front and rear wind screens, remove roof lining an assosiated trim, cut off roof, fit new roof, replace new wind screens (old ones will brake on removal) refit all trim, spray new roof and blend into rear 1/4 panels!! Am I just being picky in getting this done or is it about time we started standing up and claiming for all those little things that we try to brush off but just keep niggling at us? I will post the quote when i get it. Nathan
  17. The plugs you want are NGK PFR6B for a standard/lightly modded car and NGK PFR7B for a more highly tuned car. Cost about £35/£40 a set. Without a doubt, a remap should be the first on your mod list. Fitting a front mount is really dependant on how far you wanna go with your car. You can get 400bhp using an sti 8 top mount, along with bigger turbo and supporting mods. I would also suggest an uprated clutch if going for anything above 320ish bhp. Nathan
  18. I was paying about £1000 for a rebuild (had 3 of them!), paid £500 fitted for a second hand box (did this twice!!). Box number 6 is a 6speed. Cost me £2200 fitted. All then talk about gearbox casings being weak is tosh, its the chocolate gears that subaru fit that are the problem. If you are having a standard rebuild carried out, be preparred to save up for another one at a later date, as 300bhp+ with an uprated clutch=strained gearbox! And 90% of the time its 3rd gear that goes. Nathan

  20. I have the Prodrive kit fitted to my 94wrx. They are a vast improvement over the standard 2 pots that I had. The only downside to them is the initial price and replacement parts cost. £200 for pads (ferodo ds2500 with prodrive stamped on the back, I got mine from ASPerformance £130ish) and £400+ for a pair of discs (although most brake companies can sell you separate discs and bells from £300 and you can then reuse the bells each time and just change the discs for approx £200). Hope this helps. Nathan
  21. Congrats on the birth of your daughter. Nathan, Zoe and Lewis
  22. Shame its the same colour as the postman!! He should be home by the weekend. Just came home to find a big dent in the roof of the car (been using zoes clio). We have a scaffold at the front and it looks like something has fallen off and onto the roof, now I have to find out if it was the scaffolders or the painters!!! Nathan
