EE20 Nice
So, after happy years with a '99 Turbo Wagon, then a 2.5 Hawkeye Wagon, the other-half made us get a diesel ! Not impressed. Anyway, the coolant light on the new 'Truck' takes an age to go out, so I suspect a stuck thermostat. The OBDII show exactly 50'C at the pint the light does go out, which seems reasonable, and an actually check with an IR temp gun shows about the same, but the top hose begins to get warm (slowly) right from the off, so the 'stat being stuck open is probably the culprit. But, looking on line, you can't buy a new thermostat, and then looking further, you can't even buy a manual for an EE20 engine. I guess demographic for people who buy 2.0D's assumes they don't do their own servicing. If anyone out there does have a manual, or a CD, or a PDF , or even a link to some info - it would be much appreciated. One dealer has offered to sell me a 'stat, but £73 for a £5 part - just as well I am saving money on the fuel. Any info appreciated. Chris Link to comment
The Don
What model is the engine fitted in?? I have the Hatch Impreza hybrid-version service manual for MY08-10 available from your local "helpful" dealer by quoting Pub no: G1980G-CD-E Includes both the 1.5 and 2.0 diesel engines. Link to comment
EE20 Nice
Hi Don, It's the 2.0 Litre D, so I'll make enquiries about the CD and see how I go. Thanks very much for the Lead. Chris Link to comment
