scottishtaffy
having just fitted a fpr i was ewondering when i was looking at the tickover pressure sitting at 48 psi ' mmm looks ok ' then i thought , hang on i dont even know what the standard pressure shoulkd be anyway. so its got the standard fuel pump on it , so what should the fpr be reading? scottishtaffy
a wee pic of the new addition and even with the bonnet shut you can nstill see it thru the scoop Link to comment
scottishtaffy
cheers paul. work in progress like always. never ends lol Link to comment
lewisscoob
AFAIK standard FP is 2,8 Bar static (primed but not running) 2.8 bar is 40.6psi so pressure may be a little high. Note this may be dofferent for earlier cars that may or may not have been mapped. Link to comment
scottishtaffy
cheers lewis. think she sits at that when ign is on but not running then it went up to about 45 ish once it was running. but then it also depends on how accurite the gauge is too lol Edited July 19, 2013 by scottishtaffy Link to comment
lewisscoob
Yeah I was wondering that too. Which make of regulator did you fit? I'll check mine later as far as I know I'm running std fuel pressure. Link to comment
euan_r
2.8 to 3 bar with engine running and vacuum hose disconnected. should drop once hose from inlet manifold is back on to about 2.2-2.4 bar Edited July 20, 2013 by euan_r Link to comment
scottishtaffy
is that on the standard pump euan. and wht would the walbro 255 be/ Link to comment
lewisscoob
Correct me if I'm wrong here but make of pump is irrelevant, it's the FPR that controls pressure. No? Link to comment
scottishtaffy
ahh i did not know that. was told at wallace that mine was running lean above 5k rpm so to put a 255 in to increase flow. i thought it maybe upped pressure too. maybe not. tho i can see what you mean now lewis. the difference being with the 255 will keep it an even flow all the time and the fpr keeps the pressure equall right thru the range Link to comment
