g1983
After having a look online at various dash cameras from the go pro hero to ebays finest Hong Kong imports, all that appears to be different is name and frames per second, at a basic level anyway. My question is, regardless of speed, what's the recommended fps to eliminate judder across the range. Cheers in advance. Link to comment
oj 89
30FPS is the minimum to go for. TVs generally use 60Hz unless otherwise stated, just to give you an idea. 30 is the bare minimum, but if you can get 60 without breaking the bank, it'll be much smoother. Link to comment
stum450n
For animation 24fps is the standard - I use 48fps. PAL recording is either 25 or 50fps and gopro's are 60fps IIRC Would recommend around 50fps and get yourself a decent floating mount to avoid judder from the car's movement Link to comment
g1983
Cheers guys. Much appreciated. Go pro tops out at 120 with lower quality. But gonna look for 60 in maplin and Halfords just now Link to comment
monsterenergy
I've got a go pro hero 2 HD and am well happy with it. I use it in the car and for surfing. GoPro has so many add-ons and it's water tight which is a major bonus. Link to comment
g1983
The maplin ones at £70 are on ebay for £30. Ordered one for a play about. If I like it, my wife says she will get me a go pro plus mounts for my birthday Link to comment
thebigfelly
good news Gordon then, that one I got a few years back is just a wee £18 ish one from hong kong , its meant for mountain bikes , but I got it more for when the car went into the garage so I knew folk weren't messing around in the car when i wasn't there and just hid it up behind the rear view mirror , that was until I got to know badbaz and RA in perth and took the car to there, so never realy used it since getting it. but you can tell by the videos I posted the recording is good , but because of the low frame rate it just looks realy slow and you know yourself the speeds we were doing .
