Exhaust Questions Re Mot

Recommended Posts

Ok so hypothetically if you have the second cat delete pipe fitted on a sti but still have the first cat in place in the down pipe is this now an mot failure? Also should for whatever reason the car fail emissions test does that mean the garage doing the mot need to keep the car and do the work to get it to pass emissions test? Reason I am asking is that my car came with 2 years service and mot with Arnold Clark and with it being 8 years old and still having down pipe cat I am not wanting it to fail emissions then be stuck with Arnold Clark having to do the work as i would be getting willie at meerkat to fit a port cat for me.

Cheers

Chris

I do believe it's a s simple as - if the car left the factory with a cataclysmic converter fitted it must have one for the MOT.

My hawk has a full Milltek exhaust with a 100 cell sports cat and thats it. MOT'd yersterday with no emissions issues!

If it fails you can take it anywhere you want to have the work done but it has to be back at the testers within 7 days (i think) for it to be a free retest or you have to pay for a second MOT
