Best Cat Back Options

Ok so looking for a cat back for my Sti and wondered what people thought was a hood option. Got about £350 max to spend on it and that will include gasket and new bolts.

So far I have looked at japspeed, cobra, tornado from scoobyparts, afterburner vortex, miltek and ninja1 and2.

Would have loved meerkat but think out of my price range.

So what do you guys recommend?

Got a Hayward and Scott backbox on mine with a custom centre section from c and c and was about 360 total

The Litchfield came with a Miltek fitted and when you give a few revs it sounds great and it's not too loud when you're in cruise mode. No idea of the price though.

I have heard afterburner are good but nit too sure about how loud they are. Japspeed is very cheap but dies that mean poor build quality?

Snakehead D/pipe, full 3" straight through with a Roger Clark Motorsport Team Ice backbox, yer neighbours will love ya ;-)

Have you spoken to meerkat? You might be surprised iirc they are very reasonable. What about a second hand blitz nur spec? Get one with a bung and it can be loud when wanted and quiet when not in the mood.

Blitz I think would be too loud lol. Needs to be able to be used on long road trips to the ring etc. Cobra seem to get good reviews but never heard one in real life.

Might drop meerkat a note and see how they price these days.

well dci lee has done it again and did some sweet talking to meerkat for me so now just need to get it booked in and decide what exhaust note i want. looking for something not blitz loud but defo louder than the last 2 exhausts i had.

then i will have a prodrive backbox up for sale.

I have an afterburner centre section and Ninja2 back and it is nice

So the shorter the box the louder the exhaust. Does the same apply for bass sound in the the wider the box the deeper the bass sound from exhaust?

250 miles done now on the new catback. Think it is bedding in nicely.
