Ribman
Hi all. As some of you may know, I was layed off 2 hours after signing the deal on my 1st impreza. being 19 this created a few problems in the form of insurance and running costs but i wont bore you fellas with the negativity haha long story short, "the black pearl" has now went into hibernation awaiting my student loan and tax rebate along with my new source of income to turn it into a back road blasting monster - of sorts. this topic will just be a way of showing what can be done on a real budget and something to keep me in touch while waiting for the next pay cheque so please dont expect glorious shiny go faster bits every week haha Any Advice is more than welcome and very appreciated and if you've any cheap go faster bits please give me a shout oh and if there is any part on the car that you want / need drop me a PM and im sure that we can sort something out so here goes: 18 / 9 / 2012 rear bench, drivers seat, passangers seat, air conditioning, fog lamps all removed. a swoosh boost gauge and prodrive backbox fitted. awaiting student loan and tax rebate which should give me excess of of 2k to throw into her, any ideas on what else can come out other than CD player? pics will be uploaded as soon as i figure out how to haha. Ribman
sorry i should probably have included my goals, i'll edit it just now. looking to achieve 350 brake & 1350KG or as close as i can safely get to that without going nuts. Link to comment
badbaz
How extreme are you prepared to go re weight? Have a read at my mod thread I have made significant weight savings and I reckon the STI would have started heavier. Depends how far you want to go - keep us posted Link to comment
Ribman
Depends how far you want to go - keep us posted I reckon i'd go further than most. the carpets are out now aswell and theres a lightweight Bride seat ready to put in as soon as i can get my hands on a welder to weld it to original wrx rails. If i get really bored i might look into an abs or power steering delete but i think that might be pushing it a bit further than nessecary lol everything bar the dash and probably the centre plastics will be removed. i hear the front crash bar has to be removed when fitting an FMIC anyway so i imagine theres a few kg in there. is there anything substantial you can think im missing?? Cheers for the link, sounds like a cracking build. would be cool to get a number on the weight though. Link to comment

Ribman
another quick update while im sitting in college today; came across a cheap roll cage through Paul Shennan of Shennan motorsport so ill be picking that up before sunday. The seat rails for the bride seat have been made up and are looking good with a very low (perhaps too low) position. getting frustrated at the student loans company as its now been about 2 months. I'll post again when they pull finger and get in touch with my money. cheers Link to comment
