Splitter Pain

Recommended Posts

Can some helpful soul tell me how to stop the paint peeling off my front splitter.

It came primed grey to which I added 6ish coats of black matt then the same of lacquer but seems to flake chip too easily.

maybe this is just normal in such an exposed position but looking for options none the less so what sticks best and stays on a plastic splitter?

now thinking about hammerite or ?? as I'm quite happy with a non smooth finish.

Could be worth getting it wrapped in protective film after it's been sprayed or get it wrapped full stop!

I'm thinking about a splitter but the carbon option and thinking about the wrap to protect it before it goes on.

i must be a bit thick so you'd better explain what wrapping involves, hope I don't have to talk/sing in public.

also who offers this in our neck of the woods?

I broke my front diffuser and had it re-painted!! less then a month later I noticed it had started to peel.

I tried everything to sort it but I found the best thing is modelling paint (humbrol enamel paint) and it looks loads better, not saying its perfect but better then the way it was heading!!!

hope this helps,
