Yeah it's a little baby one ;) Hiddne behind a heatsheild. Decat pipes tend not to have hte heatsheild. The one on the WRX up-pipe is similar. The downpipe is the mahoosive one! that does most of the work.. But since most 'other' cars have their main cat where the subaru has it's 3rd cat that could be confused as teh main one, when there's still the one on teh downpipe :icon_salut:

Just make sure you local MOT station is aware of subaru configuration.. To the untrained eye, removign the 3rd cat could mislead a dopey mechanic into thinking there's no in the exahust system! FAIL!

Poked my head under the car quickly this morning at work. As far as i can tell i have no cat until the downpipe. So would i be correct in saying on a standard sti there should be 3 cats, downpipe, centre and rear??

Oh and my local mot station is a friend who ive made aware that subaru's atcually are made with no cats and they pass emissions like this

Anyone ever used scooby spares for parts? I emailed asking for a price for my discs etc and got a quote much cheaper than anywhere else. Was just wondering if all the kit is genuine?

Brembo 330mm front grooved discs

Brembo grooved rear discs

Brembo kevlar pads

Goodrich stainless hose kit

With 10% discount totals £554.40

What do you guys think? These parts totaled on scoobyparts add up to £887!

BREMBO HIGH PERFORMANCE REAR BRAKE DISCS (Grooved £75 each plus vat = £180)

GOODRIDGE UPRATED STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE HOSE KIT (£45 plus vat = £54)

Hello fellow aberdeen member! :)

There were 2 cats in your exhaust system originally. The downpipe (bolted to the turbo) has one, then there is what they call the cat pipe which is between the downpipe and the centre pipe. It was probably the one in the downpipe that was changed.

I'd offer to have a nosey and tell you for sure but I'm out of the country for this week.

Andy is worth his (and a few others) weight in gold. It doesnt stop me travelling down to see him instead of the local garage (Wallace Performance) that offer RR Ecutek remaps.

Here's a wee link to have a read off...

I know, i emailed back asking about that. Yeah i tried as performance but they were a bit more expensive than what ive found. So far scoobyparts is the cheapest for the most of it

Are you comparing like for like as it looks like your first quote is not for Brembo branded discs just an after market disc for Brembo's?

Have been in contact with Alyn at as performance the last couple of days and he has managed to come just under the cheapest competitor (scoobyparts) and get me a small saving. Alyn has been a top guy to deal with

Still a bit of a hit to the wallet in any case but looking forward to having a bit more confidence in stopping!!

Thanks for all the replies so far, they've all been really helpful.

Scooby222 i have been told that there are two cats in the scooby exhaust system. Is this right? When buying the guy told me it had only the main cat removed. It doesnt have the PPP.

I am up in aberdeen mate. Looks like you have the same car as me. If you dont mind what mods do you have to get 380 from it?

Cheers

Hi Martin, yea without PPP youl have 2 cats, one in the downpipe and one in the centre section, wouldve thought its probably a downpipe back exhaust on it so the centre section removed which would be ok without remap but worth getting that checked

my car has the PPP fuel pump (all thats left of PPP lol) full roger clark motorsport decat 3" exhaust, panel filter, uprated turbo and remap - its not the fastest but puts a smile on my face ;)
