thebigfelly
Hey folks just trying to help a mate out whos wanting a new car preferably a diesel as he does about 1200 miles just to work and back. think he said hes got up to 15k to spend on one hed be looking at one with about 10,000 miles on the clock. Now its just suggeetions on make and models but defo doesnt want any type of vauxhall or ford focus. It has to have room for him. His misus.2 kids and 2 dogs. will happily take an estate aswel.must have good mpg and look decent aswel and be ok with some decent toys inside. I suggested the VWpassat diesel bluemotion which he likes the idea of.roughly 75mpg about 800-900miles to the tank. Has some toys inside and isnt to bad on the eyes.other was the new skoda octavia or an audi but finding an audi diesel in price range with low miles is a bit hard. Im not too clued up on good diesels so best i coule think would be to ask on this car forum even tho its scoobs were all petrol heads so some must have more suggestions that me. Thanks in advance folks for any replys Link to comment
thebigfelly
Before any cheely replys pop up that should say 1200 miles to work and back each month. Not per day lmao Link to comment

jebus82
what about a skoda octavia estate? possibly a vrs?? should be able to get one for around 15k. never owned one but know a few people who own the all new skoda and not the laughing stock from when i was younger and they cant fault them. economy must be good on them as they seem to be the choice of the private taxi driver! subarucraig
What about a golf or a Volvo v50 estate ? Link to comment
badbaz
Good luck getting 75mpg!! Skoda Octavia, brilliant allrounder - had a vrs a year ago and it went very well. My current daily runner is quite literally Superb Link to comment
Phil MC
What about the Legacy diesel estate? Ticks all the boxes in my books. Quite fancy one of these myself when its time to wave goodbye to the A4 quattro sport V6 TDi. AWD, Boxer engine(remaps well so I'm told), Great mpg and has plenty of creature comforts if you get the top version (Heated leather, satnav, panoramic glass roof). Link to comment
spenno
What about a Seat Exeo estate? They use the VAG diesel engines look decent with good equipment. Or there is always a Honda Accord diesel estate. Link to comment
