Ovv Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Just got the renewal quote from Admiral for the Audi and Scoob, almost up at 1k for both for the year Just did a requote online with them and it came down to £730, still a bit steep to be honest. Could anybody recommend anyone else, I thought around £600 for both for the year is slightly more realistic. I also wondered if there was anybody who did good limited mileage quotes for the scoob, almost been a year since I got it and haven't even done 3k in it, plus its garaged in the winter so that must surely count for something in the insurance world?? Chris.

Chris. Blimey. I've been paying about 700 for the scoob alone 18000 miles/yr all mods declared. I'm with Admiral Multicar too and we have the Scoob, Leggy and our (t)rusty old vectra on the policy. I'm now dreading July when the renewal comes in... Ah well... nae pockets in a shroud.
Ovv Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Aye, its not looking too good with insurance prices right now, I noticed lots of people commenting on here about it earlier in the year but just put it to the back of my mind. Is Keith Michaels any good for limited mileage scoob insurance ? Heard its a bit of a pain to get hold of em though. June is MOT and servicing time for me also, Mrs aint gonna be pleased !!
bobbyc Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I just binned Keith Michaels they wanted £420 for my 17 year old RA got it on my Admiral multicar for £260
scooby222 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 give sky insurance a try, took a big chunk off my scoobs insurance last year - the audi's on the works fleet policy though not looking forward to the renewal
ciaranrb5 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 lol my Impreza is over £700 with Keith Micheals with me and the btter half insured although you do have age on your side Chris
Ovv Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 although you do have age on your side Chris cheeky bugger !! You should be getting charged more from your insurance company, purely cos your scoob hasnt seen a bucket and a sponge in a long long time... Admiral multicar for the scoob is something like £430, the rest is for the Audi, £300.

thebigfelly Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 just feel like my wallet and ar$e has been ram raided by the insurance company, was with privelage who gave me the best quote last year at £649 ,, just got my renewl letter and their wanting £899.94 - 7 years no claims , driving for 10 years , kept in private parkin, doing under 7k miles a year thinkin this cld be the final nail in the coffin with the missus and the car costin money ... just done go compare and cheaspest ive got so far is £778 with admiral, even tried putting the excess up to £500 and it just dropped to £729 WTF !!!!!!!!!!
Ovv Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 (edited) Well, I ended up going back to Admiral but got a new quote online instead of taking the renewal quote. After a bit of playing about with excesses and adding the mrs to the scoob I managed to get £660 for both cars. Still a bit of a pisser though as the online quote was only £600 but it had cocked up by applying my ncb to both cars instead of to the scoob only, still I cant complain, £660 compared to the original £920. Ryan@Indigo-GT Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Admiral has been the way to go for me for the last few years. Snap!
Jimmy321 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Admiral quoted me £890 this year, think I payed just under £600 last year. Did the usual online quotes and phoned Sky (£720) ended up paying ~£650 + £25 legal cover from Performance Direct. I was not happy having to state an insurance claim where I was not at fault and the 3rd party paid out, can't help but think this put a bit on the price. PS got quotes of up to £70 less by changing my job title.
