Gordon Shek Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 anyone know anything about any of the stis theyve got for sale just now? my mates looking at trading his colt turbo in for one from them, few nice ones lurking there though prices seem a bit high Hi. S&S Services prices are indeed a bit high.......but there are a few things to consider: 1) John who is the owner with his dad Brian generally gives good trade ins to offset the high prices. 2) They give discount to paid SIDC members (well i think that is still the case). 3) They are open to "Haggling" Me personally have bought at least 7 cars from John and I have never ever had a problem with them. I've also recommended at least 12 of my mates to them and ALL have bought cars from John and are very happy with their cars/tradeins/deals/service. No I'm not on commission, I just like to share my experience with S&S Services. I only ever deal with John, no-one else and even if Brian offers his assistance I would rather deal with John. Just my own personal experience and thoughts on the matter. Gordon Shek
StrikE Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I have bought quite a few cars in my time & been sold by just about as many dealers. Campbell at S & S Ayr certainly lived up to recommendations received. After care is spot on also with polite & friendly contact at every turn. I bought a car from them in Feb this year, yes it was slightly more expensive......... to start with. Eventually I was quoted extremely happy & that took all of 5 mins! Would I recommend them? Yes. Would I go back? Absolutely yes. Was i left feeling a used bawbag? No! You get what you pay for, not only with the car but service & after care. They are one of two dealers I would go back for future purchases without question........one of them is a VW dealer. Huge thumbs up from me too
tomwrx08 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 great service from all the stafff at s@s,bought my scooby from them over 2yrs ago and there always willing to help give advice over the phone as well. they give a small discount to most scooby clubs and usually 10% off all parts with ure membership card providing ure club has this arranged with them
a_waugh Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Ive just got my WRX from them and the service was brilliant. Couple of wee problems with the plate transfer and tax discs but was all sorted out for me without any hassle at all. They gave me a great trade in for my car and managed to get money off the WRX aswell. I would recommend them to anyone. I will be going back to them for services as i like the set-up and staff. Even better when the technicians are out and about talking to you aswell.
jamesm Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 S&S do seem to have many happy customers. Unfortunatly, I am not one of them. It is a while since I have been in but I found them to be unhelpful, uninterested and they gave a good impression of not having the faintest clue what they were taking about.
scooby222 Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 well he's done a deal with them, a black 03 blobeye sti, touchscreen double din headunit, triple gauges on the dash and piaa spotlights in the bumper anyone recognise it? and do i get credit for converting an evo fan to scoobydom?
a_waugh Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I seen that when i was down. Looks a good 1. And 10/10 for the effort of changing a his mind.
big den Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Ditto pretty much what Gordon & Del have said. Between my good lady & myself we've had 7 cars from them over recent years and cannot fault the deals agreed or indeed the ongoing customer service. Travelling down for the annual service is like visiting good friends or relatives - taking your car for a service can be dangerous as in the course of the visit you can end up agreeing a car change!! The silver 04 plate blob STI is one of my ex-cars which I bought new and kept for around 18 months - saw it in there last year around this time and it still looked in good condition. Looks like someone traded it back in after a short period and after changing to the black wheels. Sorry but not a fan of black wheels - GOLD, GOLD, GOLD Cheers Den
bogie Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Sorry but not a fan of black wheels - GOLD, GOLD, GOLD Cheers Den Sounds like you like your wheels like your Saturday night high-heels ya jobbynose Bogie

kai888 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 yip godspeed brakes ferado ds2500 pads much better than standard there fairly new the caliper was refurbed by him too,car got good history doc owner prior to me nd ive kept it all in check at s&s, never had any problems with the car apart from the usual knocking rear struts which was fixed under the warranty. Nothing to worry about with the car its in good nic - just ended up trading in for the new sti hatch.
scooby222 Posted April 24, 2011 Author Posted April 24, 2011 thought so, got the same set up on my car just now. take it its standard power wise? cars a credit to you and the previous owner, immaculate condition! howre you liking the hatch?
kai888 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 its ppp'd 300 bhp 300lb ft hatch is a cracking motor does everything i need of it, lots of lateral grip tons of torque good progress without having to rev it like chav and its comfy nd quieter, its the fourth scoob ive owned and its got to be the most competent.just out of curiousity how much did he pay for it?
scholesy87 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 It was more than i wanted to pay originally, lets just say that, however they offered me 1k more for my car than anyone else did and the warranty was a bonus so it worked out the best deal overall. More than happy with the car for my first scoob experience....
scooby222 Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 yea we got him Dale, no more of this evo talk now however he IS too gay to come on the fling this weekend.....
