silver_surfer Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) Right, i wired a new gizmo into the exsisting stereo wires and everything worked fine . After plastering about, trying to find a place for it, i checked if it was all still working but the stereo wont go on, and the dash clock resets to 1:00 everytime i turn on the ignition . Ive checked the connections and fuses but they're all fine. Any suggestions? Cheers, Kev Edited February 18, 2011 by silver_surfer
davey l wrx Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Sounds like whatever you've plumbed in is draining the power for the stereo so it won't power up and it's effecting the clock as well. Weird one, what gizmo have you spliced into the loom?
silver_surfer Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Its a reversing camera, thats going in the front bumper! I disconnected it, because the power wire wasnt long enough, and thats when the problems started. Im stumped! Cheers, Kev
davey l wrx Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Sounds like the permanent supply to the clock has gone so it's only powered with the ignition on.... like the stereo should be! The stereo usually has a fuse either internal or in a pod on the power lead. If splicing the camera in tried to draw too much current that could have gone.. all i can think of at the moment
