Hi Guys,

After many failed attempts at trying to part ex my Audi to get back in a Scoob I have finally given up and am gonna look to trade in against a stunner. Seen this Spec C RA and thought "WOW", then thought that I had heard mixed reports about the garage - whats yer thoughts guys and gals???

Cheers

Nice car....... One of those could possibly be my next car.

As for the dealership. Never heard anyone say anything good about them. There have been loads of threads about them on ScoobyNet, i think there was one last week. Nothing positive was said from what i read.

Best bet, is to have a damn good look at it, if you can get it checked out by an independant garage or main dealer if possible.

Was the Spec C Type RA-R not available until end Oct 2007, came with white 18" Enkei white wheels and 6 pot Brembos which were Silver!

Could be wrong just thought I would through it into the mix as I looked at this earlier today myself!

Having been to this garage to view a car with a friend, and experienced the attitude from the staff, the problems he had with the car afterwards and the way the garage treated it all, I would not go near the garage.

It looks like a quality car, and probably is, however I saw a car being sold as something it wasn't when I was there and an S202 which was missing all the good bits, ie proper wheels, brakes and interior which had been substituted for WRX stuff.

Don't be tempted is my advice or take someone with you who knows exactly every spec etc and a good mechanic as well.

Just my tuppence worth.

Hi Guys,

A wee bit more research to clarify when models were available;

Rev. F (2005)The WRX STi receives the same increase in wheelbase as the Spec C. All STis received additional rear fender flaring in order to allow an increase in wheel size. The wheel size went from 17" x 7.5" to 17" x 8". In accordance with the increased wheel width, steering lock-to-lock turns have been reduced. Wheel hub strength was improved. The P.C.D. was changed from 5 x 100 mm to 5 x 114.3 mm. The interior was vastly improved as well. A whole new center console now brings out a very high grade interior feel.

The WRX STI continues on relatively the same. The Impreza line's looks have been updated.

The WRX STI Spec C's receives the Arai tuned dampers and a 21 mm (0.8 in) swaybar. The rear suspension is changed from rubber bushings to pillowball bushings. The strut tower was further stiffened for improved handling and stability. The strut towers were reinforced for better handling and better ride characteristics. The engine mounts were changed from metal to liquid-filled plastic mounts to reduce vibrations into the car's cabin. Some 2006 owners have had issues with these plastic engine mounts. The manufacturer will replace them, under warranty if broken, with the 2005 rubber mounts.[10]

The DCCD is updated with the use of a torque-sensing mechanism inside the DCCD. The torque split is changed to 41/59.

The WRX STI Spec C was used for Group N homologation.

The WRX STI Spec C Type RA was released in November 2005, with 350 units produced. The Type RA added the following to the Spec C model from the STI parts catalogue: 4-way STI adjustable inverted struts, STI Japan-spec pink springs, STI rear lateral links, STI rear trailing links, STI 21 mm (0.8 in) rear sway bar, STI rear pillowball suspension, STI 110 mm (4.3 in) opening rear axleback exhaust, STI 17" x 8" Enkei-made wheels and STI V-lip front spoiler.

Cheers

Get your semi off, avoid these cowboys!

Do a search on scoobynet, these guys are crooks

They don't seem to shift many cars as some of their stock is about 2 years old

dealers don't sell cheap spec c ra's

Condsider my semi now totally gone. I e-mailed about 10 traders last night about my car as a trade in so hopefully a few replies today so we can make some progress on the new wheels very soon.

Cheers for confirming what I had feared.

If it looks to good to be true - it probably is!!!!

Heard bab things about them too, my mate was looking for a car and visited them a while back and the standard of the cars was shocking. There were new ish cars that had been touched up and resprayed etc to a shocking standard. Personally i would stay clear of them at all costs but that is just my opinion, keep looking for "the one" as it will eventually come

Its a spec C V-limied. As it has all the creature comforts of electric windows, mirrors etc. Its definatly not an RA as the RA is raw with every un-nessesary electical item removed for weight saving and no sound deadening, no passenger sunvisor etc!

Heard bad reports about this company too. May well be a fantastic car but as said before get someone who knows these cars inside out to look over it for you.

IMO hold back and find a type RA ;)

Send a PM to 'juggers' on scoobynet, he runs Performance Centre Manchester, perhaps he can sort you with what you are after and maybe even take part exchange.

Hi Kenny,

If only I could afford the £20k + price tag fella. I am not really looking for a Spec - nice as it may be. Just looking for a good specced STI with over 320bhp ish that has service history and is a clean motor. Surely this is not too much to ask!!! £16k is my limit and it will need to be at a garage as it looks as if I will need to trade in the Audi as I have had no takers on a straight swap.

Cheers

Hi Guys & Gals,

At fecking last I have just paid a deposit on what I think is a cracking car, already has a few choice mods, with a few more in the coming months I would imagine!!!!

It's a metallic black 2006 2.5 WRX STi Type UK with 340bhp & 1 owner from new, the mods so far are as follows;

Ecutek remap

18" Gold Speedline Freeflowing Alloys,

Front And Rear Strut Braces,

Forge Swirl Pot,

Samco Hose Kit,

Adjustable dash Datalogger,

Zun Sport Grille Set,

Upgraded exhaust system - yet to confirm what type this is.

I think there's more gonna be more when I go down to pick it up, the guy at the dealership said there was a shed load of receipts in a folder from the previous owner who traded up to a new Range Rover Sport - fair posh!!!!!

Will get the pics up as soon I pick it up, having to get the private plate off the Audi which I think will take around 10 days at DVLA.

Most chuffed
