scooby222 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 got home yesterday to find my new brakes had arrived - 6 pot AP racing calipers with 360mm discs cant wait to get them fitted, but first i need to decide on what pads to use, havent been too impressed with the ds2500's ive got on just now, and also whether to change the colour from black and yellow to brembo gold and red for full stealth marks
mystery machine Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Sounds nice - let's see the money shot, Dave Do they fit inside 17" rims, BTW?
G.Mac Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 no they wont fit under his 17's or thats the size of disc I would have gone for Go on Dave, just stick them on the way they are, you know you want too Anyways I'm off to have a look at my engine mounts as it has finaly dried up a bit. graeme
scooby222 Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 ok, ok here you go - calipers first then the discs, used but less than 1mm of wear bit thicker than standard nope, aint fitting under 17's - this is the discs against the standard wheels
StrikE Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Jesus titty fcuking christ Dave.............those are not small rotors OK you win as there is NO WAY i am riding your bumper this year m8 congrats you lucky man
scooby222 Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 there is pads Paul but theyre pretty far down - as im a cheap skate i bought them 2nd hand but with very little use havent tried pagids before, whatre they like for wear/noise/cold starts? and Del as if your lardy ass could get anywhere near my bumper
euan_r Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 very nice dave, monster brake size i fitted my ickle version yesterday. clearence was a bit tight had to remove wheel weights and add hammer on ones, good job local garage were still open. this put me behind schedule when i was wanting away, cant say i followed proper bedding in procedure for new pads mine came with near new ds2500 but i will leave them for track. went against my better judjment and went for ebc bluestuff as they seem to be getting good reviews, was after something more road use friendly. if they turn out to be crap they will be replaced with some 1144.
scooby222 Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 looking good Euan! you did a good job with the painting, look well tidy once your summer wheels and suspension are back on let me know how you find the blue stuff - im planning to run 1144's or similar for road too
Wee Jock Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 there is pads Paul but theyre pretty far down - as im a cheap skate i bought them 2nd hand but with very little use havent tried pagids before, whatre they like for wear/noise/cold starts? and Del as if your lardy ass could get anywhere near my bumper Pagid pads are awsome, they came recommended to me by Barretts Rally MotorSport who were British Rally Champions for a while! I have used them ever since, that has been the best part of 6 years! Got to admit I like a firm pedal as well!
Wee Jock Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Where did you get them from, they look the bollox btw!
ciaranrb5 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I have Pagid pads on my AP 6 pots seem ok so far circa 2k. So now you have the same braking power as me all you need is the power to keep up
