wow that must have been a fright seeing the tractor and deciding on the best evasive manoeuvre.

Looks like you made the right call.

Glad the kids are ok and the missus is home.

Hope the farmer gets it and this has not scared you or your family from getting behind the wheel again.

I'm wanting another cat to be honest, really liked it, always wanted one, not to sure why but might be the paint colour.

desperate to get behind the wheel again, farmer will def get it 100%

and in all seriousness, i'm thinking of putting the cat back on road, jigged properly (roof's not up and i'm certain chassis leg isn't to bad, airbags didn't deploy, so I'll see what happens in the morning when I pop down to retrieve my defi boost and oil pressure gauges dvd player etc.

Glad to hear that the kids are ok and the wifes injury isn't as bad as you initially feared, fingers crossed getting back into a car after this wont be an issue. Bad news about the car though, but if its fixable it saves looking for another one - just make sure farmer giles coughs up for the lot.

Not Nice to read these Posts at all, gald all is well, shame about the Suby ahhh thease farmers piss me off indeed I had a near miss my self yesteday with a concealed entrance with a tractor on my new toy Aprillia RSV 1000 {factory} bike some 17 year old kid driving this vehicle decided not too stop at the entrance and pulled straight out there was 3 of us on a steady run luckily my reactions were a bit quicker and my concentration was a bit better of riding a new bike, there should be a law on thease kids driving such a machine...

Hope you get a new car soon and it has a burble all the best.

bit of an update, Katy's home from hosp, got a ct scan and it came up clear, she's bruised her spine, whatever that means. (shes home that's all that matters)

Farmer is screwed he's broke so many laws from not displaying a valid tax disc to travelling a distance between sites greater than 1.5km as legally allowed to with nill duty tax (which he hadn't bothered with since 2006................would have been interesting if the scoob wasn't taxed the outcome difference then.)

Already looking at a Terzo

Glad everyone is ok mate. I notice you are based in Ayr and the Combine is green. Out of interest did this happen locally, and if so, what was the name of the farmer or company? I am sure there is more than one green combine in Ayrshire, but there is a chance I might know them.

Well

The insurance company informed me today, or more accurately The company they assign to fight the claim for me tell me the farmers insurance is 'more than likely invalid'

I had to call mr farmer this morning to get his insurance details and as off 1600hrs he hadn't got in touch with them so meantime I've no car, no courtesy car......and no more fcuking patience left.

Any suggestions apart from visit him with 'HICK' he was a total tosser on the phone as well, I'm just to angry to think rational and don't want my kids to do without me for 18 months which is why I'm still behaving myself for now. Insurance co were set to pay out asap till they found out this now it's as though they aren't interested.

Colin Hyslop, driving the combine, not the one nearest to the car, but the one in the far off bit road in the picture aprox 80m? behind me is where he stopped.

Company name is WM Hyslop & Son, from Lendalfoot outside Girvan.

It happened on the Maybole to Daily road. Because of the attitude of the 'person' driving I will take this as far, and to as extreme an limit as I can now. He was point blank refusing to call an ambulance for my 4 yr old daughter, putting it in perspective the worst that could have happened to him (and not for the outcome such as is now) is prison, should things have went bad, and at his time of refusal, he'd no idea of anyone's situation at the car, whereas the condition of a 4yr old lass could have been life threatening.

Sorry if I'm ranting a tad, but as you'll imagine i'm about to explode, wish to hell I had 'flipped' at him yesterday, but my only concern was the safety of my two weans, and my wife.

Terrible - hope the family are well...

Brian.

Yes, thanks.

Hope (my eldest daughter has bruising to her neck shoulder and top of chest, and bit embarrasingly but kind of funny announced very loudly in Tesco's to a friend of my wife's that 'dads going to hit the man with his bat stick' (baseball bat...which I didn't think she knew i had one and had no idea she knew it was in cupboard for 'incidents') Paige the youngest she's just her usual wild self keeps sayin 'daddy, oh is the car is a messy mess a man my car' lol Wifes sore but good. just the insurance nightmare now!

Company name is WM Hyslop & Son,

Thought it might have been my other half's Cousins. They are big agricultural contractors in Ayrshire and run John Deer combines and tractors. Not them however.

Glad everyone is ok in the end and hopefully the insurance won't be too much hassle and you will be back in an Impreza soon.

Good to hear that you are all ok.

I thought the police would seize un taxed vehicules after an accident, especially if a roadside check did not show it was insured. Bet he is also breaking the law regarding the use of red diesel. I know one farmer who had an accident his machine was removed by the police in May, he has no idea when he will get it back, it had no mirrors. I wonder which customs and excise office covers that area.

omg that looks horrible, really glad you guys are ok could have easily been a worse outcome, like said before I hope they nail that farmer to the wall

The police have impounded and put notice of restriction or prohibition, can't recall exact words and they said it's parked at a farm and will not be going anywhere untill they release it. Still not getting much response from my Ins Co, I thought I'd of got a courtesy car, with me being fully comprehensive.
