No help here I'm afraid, been away too long but your query has just highlighted the sad demise of nearly all the garages in Lanark and there used to be some quality work turned out.

Always fancied getting a respray from Billy Connolly out at Carnwath, quality painter and novelty factor as well.

Best of luck with your hunt.

Expected you think that. They are probably one of the longest running buisnesses in the area as I'm sure he started up when the County Garage in Hyndford Road closed down so that must be 25+ years ago.

Hope it goes well.

I now feel realy ancient, as a tiny kid I used to be in there on Saturdays with my old man right through to transferring cars part time in my early 20s.

Off to customise my zimmer

He got it done at Verve in Wishaw mate. I think the painting was ok but the actual getting it down proved to be a nightmare.

I'm sure he'll be along shortly to fill you in.

A socket set with a 10mm missing? Size, quality and why missing????

Did you get the paint work done Strike?

On a side note do you know anywhere I can get a socket set with the 10mm missing? :tumbleweed:

Verve in Wishaw as mentioned and a NIGHTMARE to be avoided at all costs by anyone with the slightest respect, no matter how little for their car.

Long story short... paid to get stone chips removed & sprayed full front of car, bonnet wings and bumper. They refitted bumper without painting it because they ''forgot'' Fur Fuk Sake :redcard: AND they just painted over some of the stone chips without rubbing them down properly! And they never filled in the holes left by a w*** of a garage after fitting a number plate onto a brand new car out with the normal fixing points.... car was in twice & nearly a third time.

I would have done better with a spray can from Halfrauds

No longer have the car thank god as it was truly a demon :cussing:

Funny you should mention the socket set... per chance i have a set in my garage with believe it or not the 10mm socket missing

What car you got now?

The Mcrae might be getting it's long awaited respray in the next month (ish), why I wanted to know about the paint job. Just ordered a **** load of parts to make her road worthy again. Two years in the garage takes it's toll.

Also a bit pi55ed off because bridgestone no longer make s02 tyres in 45 profile. I now have two perfect tyres and can't get the other two.

Santa might be nice to you and get you a 10mm to complete the set :waving-santa:

Hope the wife and kids are well.

Can't wait to see the old girl up and about as its been a long time.

This wouldnt happen to be that manky socket set per chance & its a 22mm missing lol, i believe the 10 mm is still in the Cat

Bugger only wanted the 22mm so you can keep them :kerstsmiley:

I have been told to sort the car out or her in doors will scrap her.

Ordered the front wing and lamp washer jet this morning to sort out the 'deer' damage. Ordering all round discs and pads this afternoon.

I called Subaru on Friday for a price on a steering rack.......£1200 plus vat plus fitting. :rotfl:

£35 off ebay and Ali will fit it for £30 and a pint.

Still trying to find a pair of s02 tyres with a 45 profile, or I'll have to get a full set of new boots. Any suggestions on what type to go for? (knowing that a drive like a t**t)

Then all I need is the respay and she'll be a good as new, by which time I'll be skint and have to sell her.
