colin_ross Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 Defo an RS, clocked the badge as he pulled ahead and then again as he fell behind. Couldn't hear much over the racket my own car was making.
lewisscoob Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Brian is right, the current RS6 sports the V10 stolen from Lamborghini with a couple of blowers attached. As if it wasnt pokey enough! http://www.carpages.co.uk/audi/audi-rs6-05-09-07.asp Edited July 20, 2010 by LewisScoob

Not saying the guy had rebadged it but reminds me of the A4 Diseasel taxi that used to operate in Aberdeen with a RS4 badge on it........whats the point? If you know what an RS4 is you KNOW it's not one; if you dont know what an RS4 is you dont notice or care. Edited July 20, 2010 by BrianM

If you know what an RS4 is you KNOW it's not one; if you dont know what an RS4 is you dont notice or care. maybe just done it for apeal or dreams that its a Rs4 bit like the guys at the classic ford show - guy does his ford to look like a charger , or this nice lambo reminds me of that episode of top gear SUPPER CARS UNDER £10,000 where clarkson bout that classic super car that the guy spent £30 on a badge to say it was the SS version when it was actualy bog standard
braveheart Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 No turbos? The current RS6s is a 580bhp V10 Twin Turbo. 0-125mph in 12.7 seconds. Is that all 580 bhp no need to race it in high boost then Subys rule lol
colin_ross Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 With 1985 Kg dry weight the deck was stacked in my favour. High boost map would have just been cruel.
frank c Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 at Carlton Hill!!!Callum W Jeez, That's turning back the clock a tad Callum! I'm sure it used to be the last Saturday of the month or something along those lines. The street used to lined with modded cars and bikes all up for a bit of fun.... Don't think i was old enough to drive at the time though
mystery machine Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 With 1985 Kg dry weight the deck was stacked in my favour. High boost map would have just been cruel. Each to his own, I suppose. Personally, I'd have his V10 twin-turbo - or even the Audi V10 N.A. - over any 2.0L high-pressure turbo setup, even if the latter was boosted to produce 1000bhp. Not a fan of Audi in general, but they produce some beautiful engines!
colin_ross Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 I'd have the audi also if given the choice but that wasn't my point. My point was he brought a knife (a bloody big one mind you) to a gun fight.
mystery machine Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Och no, I understood your point - just a comment FWIW.

Don't think i was old enough to drive at the time though lol if i remeber right the edinburgh cruise lads used to and still do meet up calton hill/ waterloo place and the petrol station just down the other side fi it , or theyd be at mcdonlads opposite meadow bank, before they shut f princes treet , it used to be a nice wee race along princess street . then once done that - up lothian road ,then down to the grass market up to the royal mile then down the north bridge and a right back up waterloo place
mikeyb13 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 One day you guys will get bored of driving fast n straight lines

I had a chav in a corsa (1.0/1.2 maybe) try and race me last night on the way back from the cinema - he took what can only be described as a 1/2 melted whittled mashmallow to a BFG (for you doom fans) contest.
frank c Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Was that back in the early 70s? Cheeky beggar ... It certainly wasn't any kind of cruise !
kennyuk300 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 One day you guys will get bored of driving fast n straight lines Say's the man who took his Exige up the strip Kenny

mikeyb13 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Say's the man who took his Exige up the strip Kenny Wasn't planning to go up the strip but I just couldn't help myself This is what I prefer doing these days, might be different if I was driving a beast like Colin or Chris's cars Edited July 21, 2010 by mikeyb13
mystery machine Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 One day you guys will get bored of driving fast n straight lines Not as long as Andy's in business and there's cash burning holes in pockets Whatever browns the toast, I 'spose - straight-line racing isn't my mug o' slash but it makes for an entertaining thread
colin_ross Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 was the new rs6 blue? i raced that down the backroad into shotts before if it was. thats a V10 bi turbo Indeed it was. A dark metalic blue, not as dark as mica blue but darker and more metalic than wrc blue.

Guest Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Its good to see the big power house car's being driven in the way that they were designed for! I had some awesome banter with a 350z on the kingsway, it still amazes me how quickly an estate can fend off a modern day sports car, was pulling away quite a fair bit so that was a huge smile on the face moment.
mikeyb13 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Wheres the rollers, scissors n hairdye? Do them every morning before I go out in the car but it takes a real driver to do their make up whilst on 3 wheels going over Duffus You still fancying an S2000 Gordy Queen?
mystery machine Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Wheres the rollers, scissors n hairdye? Oh c'mon, the Lotus isn't a hairdresser's car by any stretch of the imagination! Now, if he'd posted a pic of a Mini cabriolet...
mystery machine Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Big fan of the Lotus myself just a bit friendly banter Och of course Gordon, same here
