welcome to sidc buddy.

dont worry about the car cause us scooby owners like to change things to time to time :D

Hi Guys,

Cheers It seems a good car, seems to lag before hitting boost but when it hits boost its quite brutal lol - turbo looks standard tho, its running around 0.7/.8 bar.

Have already found a oil leak - I think it may be from rocker or something but its hard to tell as it drips to bottom engine support/bar thing. Still - A straight swap for my tdi golf, i'm not complaining B)

nice looking scoob m8

i think it should be running 0.9 bar of boost standard the oil leak from the rocker covers are common but get it fixed asap as it will drip onto the exhaust

In Japan the Impreza had many limited edition runs, from the factory, so this may well be more than just a run of the mill WRX like you have had say in the UK or Europe. Is the bonnet aluminium too? Huge weight saving if it is - so enjoy.

Problem is once the car gets into the UK and parts need replacing, some folk may have swapped bits with UK cars and all sorts, who knows? Look for the ID plates near the roller bearing mounts in the engine bay, and see if any 'edition' info is printed on either plate?

Hi All,

Thanks all for the welcome and information. The car does indeed have an alloy bonnet. Started stripping bits off it lastnight, passenger cam cover does look like its been leaking, but will find out later when i move all the gubbins out the way. Looking under the car the oil drips slap bang centre on to the steering rack..... so it could indeed be rear crank seal? Its had a clutch recently too so maybe the crank. I might as well get the cam covers off and re-stuck on with hightemp sealer, one less thing to fix in the near future!

Flat4Phil: I can only see the plaque on passenger shock tower. Where is the other located???

Thanks to all for the welcomes and continued advice.

Cheers,

Stewart.

Stewart get the applied model code off the top of the suspension strut in the engine bay, it will start GC8. All import cars had the alloy bonnets, i doubt very much if it has alloy wings .

Well - Seems it was only the passenger rocker that was leaking. Gave it a healthy dose of degreaser and a thorough clean before refitting. I may as well do the drivers side today, as its bound to go at some point! :D

Paul: Well after doing a bit of digging about it seems I have a run of the mill WRX boo B) Applied Model: GC8C48D Option Code EJ.
