Prodrive Preformance Or Andy Forester

just considering either getting the ppp put in the car or an upgrade from andy forrester, wonder what people would recomend, or sudjest.

price,value for money, gain in power, overall preformance increase, fuel costs, any help would be great folks,

its an 03plate no warrenty

if in warranty the prodrive keeps it if out you will get much better results from Andy as its a tailored map instead of a generic one.

Andy F map is the dangles.

I know when I got mine the PPP was 2K, didnt bother and within 6 months had it maped by Andy.

Meercat full decat exhaust 550

G spec 2 headers 500ish

Bosch 255 lph fuel pump 180 (that was fitted price and pump still going strong 5 yrs later and was still flowing enough when the car was running 450 bhp)

AFP remap 550 + Vat = 646

So for 1876 you would have much better power, torque, reponce and fuel economy that PPP,

so the ppp is £2,000 , and andy's was £1876 was that a stage 1 uprgrade, or more?

There is also a group buy on for Andy at the moment so you could also save yourself some more cash.

Is your car a WRX or STI?

Personally, with the money you are talking, I would be doing the following:

fuel pump (walbro or bosch)

performance panel filter

uprated plugs

Complete decat/sports cat exhaust

wrapped or coated, ported std headers and up pipe

Andy F remap with switchable maps

These will help you with rough power figures...

If WRX

Add in an sti air filter and you're running a very decent stage one and will amost certainly make more power than PPP. You'd also have an ecutek licence meaning future mapping is much cheaper, this is more of an issue if you see yourself making future modifications. Do you know how far you'd like to go?

As has already been stated the PPP is a one size fits all map and therefore is a compromises, a map from Andy will bespoke and get the best from the car.

well its a wrx sti type uk i have, and im just looking to make it a little quicker, but not so much that it drinks the fuel more than it already does lol

as its standard the now , but just to up the top speed a little and give it more accelaration of the line, and so it picks up speed alot quicker

Ricky, if you are looking for the best torque and BHP from your car then forget about ported headers, you will not make the same bhp although torque may be similar.

Here is a link to a car of exactly the same age and model as yours, running GT spec 2 headers. I've never seen VF35's do anywhere near this on cast headers.

A lot of the ported header promotion on here lately has been of suspicious origin

ps when I was running 370 bhp I was actually using the same if not slightly less fuel than on the standard Subaru map

None of this will up the top speed of the car at all, that is limited by your gearing and how many revs your engine can handle which will not change with these mods.

What you will do is get there quicker and the car will be more responsive to drive.

Especially as it's a newage STi then Andy Forrest is the way I'd go. Your TMIC is good for at least 400bhp, your gearbox will do for up to 600?? So at least if you go to around 340bhp on your existing setup, but with a panel filter and decat downpipe you'll be laughing, and so ready for your next upgrade upgrade of the turbo and injectors :whistle: .

(Only rough figures off the top of my head).

member and not hold the car at high speeds though as in 100mph> as the TMIC starts to struggle and you can cook it, as the air starts to flow over the scoop instead of into it.

do you mean not to hold it at 100mph after getting the mods or , holding it at 100mph as standard, because i do like the bypass all the way down to eyemouth and the old hyundia coupe handle a constant 110mph all the way down numerous times

can`t remember the precise speeds but the tmic don`t like 000 digit speeds for prolonged time gets very hot under there,

more people in the know will explain better im sure .
