craigdmcd Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 To do that level of damage to a wheel, you have to hit something pretty hard (nice kerb maybe?). I'd be back at Evans Halshaw trying to find out where that happened and why your car is pulling. Time to stop being so calm about it.
Spaceman Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 new wheels bud that looks horrific try ebay should get a single no probs. for geometry go to pro grip in bonny bridge very reasonable bout 50-60 quid for full 4 wheel alignment and John is the berrys.
thefastone Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Em, I think that's dangerous mate, and I certainly wouldn't be doing any speed on that...

dram300 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I'd get the spare on PDQ mate. Wouldn't fancy a collapsed wheel at any speed !!!

sparky_sj04 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Seriously mate I would park that up until you can get a new wheel on!!!!!! That's downright dodgy and likely to wreck your sidewall pretty quick. Just now you 'only' need a wheel, leave it longer and you might need a tyre as well. Have a look about, those wheels go for peanuts so just a matter of finding one.

rig-pig Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 wow thats bad put the spare on ASAP that tyre will blow out m8, thats the beed of the tyre you can see and thats the seal for the tyre

Spaceman Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 i wouldn`t want that repaired bud its scrap not worth the cash to repair try www.japperformanceparts.com for one they break scoobs all the time bud get down to that garage though and go wild phone in a sickie if you have to but do it now and i wouldn`t want to be running about on the spacesaver either.

gus the bus Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 thebigfelly said: hes the damage of the alloy , what do we think people repairable or am i fcuked, and need to get a new one ...? Holly shamolly mate, I wouldnt be driving with that on! That deffo looks like impact damage and could be the reason for the car pulling. Blame E.H. for that and tell them to get it replaced. I wonder if the " surprise Eagle F1" in the boot is some sort of "compensation" for someone sha$$ing your wheel Bound to be someone on here with a spare Sti wheel kicking around
sparky_sj04 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 thebigfelly said: that mean it wouldnt work on my standard car phil...? If the dimensions and stud patterns are correct then they will be fine as it's only a wheel and all it has to do it fit. Group-N stuff is largely road car based so the parts will fit on your road car. WRC stuff (such as wheels) is different and wouldn't fit your road car. But you don't need to be concerned with that.
thebigfelly Posted July 10, 2010 Author Posted July 10, 2010 cheers sparky , im sure im being teste on how much i luv scoobs like wi all the hassle im geting wi my first 1. gus - yeah icedog had his 4 for sale but hes sold them now . i put a message up in the wanted section was hoping to get a reply . also sent a wee message away to that subaruwrcspares, askin how much he wanted for one with or without the tyre . as for evans halshaw they dont give a toss, no proof as the misus didnt mention anything after she drove it away on thursday afternoon and it wasnt reported until today due to me being on night shifts and late shifts . though i have noticed a grinding sound kind of coming from teh rear left , nothing visual from the outside rubbing against anything,, was thinking maybe its a wheel bearing or the pads maybe sticking a little .
thefastone Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 (edited) Quote though i have noticed a grinding sound kind of coming from teh rear left Well get them to fix it... Safe to say though that Wheel is not repairable... perhaps if it was just bent or warped, then they can repair that, but theres bit missing from the wheel, nothing you can do with that except get a new one... Gorbash12346 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 i'm all for making a dealership pay to fix a car thats causing problems but this car is plagued, and if i'm honest the amount of time they held up proceedings sounds as if there has been an incident while it was at evans halshaw (possibly the cause of the damaged wheel) and quite honestly i would have parked it in their front window and taken back my money my opinion: it's not worth holding onto the car with all thats gone on go out and find another one thats been looked after. aftermarket warranties are not worth the paper their written on. perfect example being a 330ci convertible comes into my work (bmw dealership) as the roof won't open or close, so the customer has to foot an hours diagnosis as black horse warranty won't cover the inital diagnosis, turns out the hydraulic motor has burnt out after the system sprung a leak and ran out of fluid. the car now needs a new motor fitted and a few lines replaced, one heft repair bill to stomach for a car the customer has only had for 2 weeks so we approach black horse who state that the convertible roof is not vital to the functioning of the car and they will not cover it, and as for our labour charge (at that point it was £98 an hour) was too high and they would only cover a labour rate of £40 an hour and it would have been up to the customer to pay the difference up to that value if they had indeed covered it, the customer promptly took the car back to verve where they bought it and got their money back
