colin_ross Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Chris, surprised to hear you need two lift pumps, I would have thought one would have been enough. The plug change is overdue to be honest as I assumed you already had 8's in there. Looking forward to seeing this one finished (and then beating it like a ginger stepchild )

Looking forward to seeing this one finished (and then beating it like a ginger stepchild ) Hi Colin anything running over the 650 mark will require the 2 pumps when building was aiming only for the 600 now I have made that on low boost I will defo need 2, the plugs I know people running 680 i'n there cars and had no issues Steven Darley built the bottom end of my car so he's familiar with these engines and told me racing 8s what you running i'n yours ?? Plug wise if I woul do it again I would run x 2 909s or a fuellab but
mk1cos Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 chris needs another bosch 044 to run from the swirl pot to the engine, the lift pump from tank to swirl pot is fine
colin_ross Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 and will have the 2 pumps feeding into one swirl pot This is what I was referrong to. 2 pumps feeding the rails I'd have expected but I'd have thought a single lift pump would have been plenty. Chris, I've had 8's ever since I went rotated.
braveheart Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Well this week had been extremely busy for SW motorsport popped up to see Stevie as usal chocca, however once again I needed dead lines met, all the parts arrived for my next stage i'n light mods 2nd 0.44 arrived new fuel lines and racing 8s there is a few bits to be fabricated on the swirl pot new fuel lines to be fitted and other bits and pieces, the problem was Stevie is off on his holidays again yes another only 5 a year lol also got confirmation that Andy F had booked me i'n for the 20th oct can't wait been looking forward to this mapping session been talking this high boost for a bit too long need some results. I am happy with 620 bhp at 1.65 bar the tourque was low this is my excuse for not getting my 10s lol however let's see what 2. Bar is all about with the correct fueling and the proper plugs please let things run smooth...I am looking for 2 maps one for the 1/4mile and another for track work if I don't get a 10 then I will be buying a lage box of matches... It will be interesting also forgot to mention Nos will be used not sure if it can be used on the Dyno One completed then out on the road i'n Andys a*** dyno.. Chris

arch Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Chris think you will see a massive difference in the car once it is mapped at 2 bar, should be an interesting road mapping session. I must admit my car has never seen a dyno and prefer to go by how the car feels and also take Andy's feedback on how it performs. Hopefully your misfire issues will be sorted and you will have a car you can use to its full potential next year.
oobster Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Was asking Stevie Walker the other day if he'd heard from you recently Chris, I said I hadn't spotted you on the forum for a while.
