burgy_51_ Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 This might be a stupid question , how many reverse lights does my 07 STI have? My car is going in for a M.O.T tomorrow and i thought the car had two and one was out, so i bought bulbs and went to change it and it looks as if the car only has one reverse light on the left hand side, i thought the car had them on both sides, is that rite or wrong? or im i missing something? cheers john

Jon B Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 You dont need them to work for the mot anyhow its not a failure unless they are on constantly you sure matey???? i had an escort turbo fail because i didn't have any reverse lights.....

Jon B Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Its not a legal requirement on the MOT to have working reverse lights strange you where failed ive never had any problems on some old bangers ive run around in where the reverse lights didnt work The turbo was a show car i built for my garage a few yrs back that had custom led lights but didn't have reverse lights....****y failed me for it...grrrrrrrrrrr good mind to kick his b***s for it now...lmao seems he just wanted more cash out me..but hey ho...

nick-21 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Im sure as long is there is a working reverse light, then its a pass. Reverse lights are NOT an MOT requirement http://www.motester.co.uk/CarOwnersGuideto...atIsTested.aspx
G-ManUK Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 sure my hawk only has 1 reverse light - think it's the rear fog light in the same place on the other side...
gordi82 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) They only have 1 reverse light the other side is your fog Edited April 17, 2010 by gordi82
jebus82 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 i think most cars only have one now? my gb270 only has one, i had a civic type R before and it only had one, i just fitted another...probs gona do the same with the gb270. regards the m.o.t dont think it matters, as if it wasnt road legal the dealers wouldnt be able to sell cars like this.
wrxmania Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 The hatch only has one reverse. I swapped out one of my reverse lights on my classic to fit an LED fog in there...no MOT problems.
