sma01 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 spoken to what is meant to be 1 of the main tein dealers/service centre in the uk, to repair a shockie is taking approx 6 weeks - a service centre that cant repair it on site and have to send it back to japan to be sorted, and the customer pays for the privilige of sending it over there and having at sent back.....£258 plus vat and carriage for 1 shock.....
StewartyBoy Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 HAHA HOLY CRAP BATMAN!! I would be looking at changing them for bloody sure! Can you not go to somewhere local that deals with absorber/rams and see if they can repair it or is it warranty!? We use West Of Scotland engineering in Partick.
G.Mac Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I think I would be getting Duncan to talk to Graham at Whitleline as they are offering a cracking set of coilovers, Jac has them fitted to his along with Jim in his old bugeye and Higgy, only heard good things about them. Sorry I cant remember the name of them Graeme

the squiggle Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Frieght to Japan aint gonna be cheap either if they use air freight on a repair and return basis. As has been mentioned, take it to somewhere like WOS Engineering to see if they can repair it here in Scotland before sending the strut away on an overseas jaunt

Freaking joke. Which one of yours is needing fixed? I have ordered a set of springs from Revolution and he also quoted me over £200 per shock - which is more expensive per unit that a new set. Foolishly enough, I have orded Tein springs
p10ant Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Speak to John at Black Art Design (www.blackartdesigns.com), He rebuilt my Leda coilovers last year, All 4 units were fully refurbished and returned in a week. I would highly recommend them. Was cheaper than buying a new kit. Cheers, Paul T.
sma01 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Just sent black art design a email to see if they would repair a tein super street coilover no harm in asking can you let me know when u get a reply mate and if they are able to repair?
sma01 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 And a very nice set-up I think Braveheart has a set aswell... what sort of damage ££ is in a set of them??

thewelsho Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 near side rear mate, seal away and theres a wee hairline crack in it too .... Same one as mine I dunno the extent of the damage though. I'll watching this thread to see if anyone else can sort them out cheaper and faster. It's a shame the same ones are gubbed... might have been able to get working set between the two of us. Oh well.
wilky Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Im putting the whitelines on my car. From the feedback I get from other whiteline owners they are a really good setup. There was a place in glenrothes restored teins, however I couldnt find them last year and I suspect they went to the wall. Callum W
john_stevenson2 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Back struts probably are'nt handed. Perhaps a couple of you can get together and complete a set. ---john---
