Sti Cosworth Due For Release In March.

Interesting read... seem to be a few people getting their knickers in a twist, but trying desperately not to show it!! :)

Price, fully checkable history, comprehensive warranty and insurance costs are all factors which attracted me to my previous five Imprezas.. all of which have been UK models.

Performance is obviously different between models, 70-80bhp is gonna move you along the road a little quicker, specially with a better spec of turbo and quicker gearchanges.. however personally, I love the UK Turbo 5-speed ratios I had in my cars and think they're brilliantly spaced for a punchy (once modified) 280-300bhp back road point to point car. The JDM stuff that I've driven seems to require a fair bit more changing to keep things on the boil, and I'm lazy, so I didn't see that as a positive. :D

Would I buy a JDM over a UK model should I fancy some Flat 4 Love again....... possibly, I'd certainly not rule it out because I'm 26, I could insure either model which is something I couldn't have done when I got my first UK Turbo at 19yrs old!!

But since I wouldn't be tuning the thing to the lateral hills, hiding under a twisted tree, in a chy storm with andyF fog or whatever you boys say... I'd base any decision on condition, price, history etc etc and the UK/JDM thing wouldn't really come into it if I'm honest. B)

Cheers,

Grant

Well Done Mr Farnan........... :) your Spec D was proof of how good a UK 'chocolate engined' STI could be,and its new owner absolutely loves it.

Hope things are good with you m8.

Things are alright with me Gav, considering a return to the fold (which I said I wouldn't do) now that my EK9 has gone, however not sure I can find anything that floats my boat for the budget... and the cash is beginning to burn a bit of a hole in my pocket, so been prowling Pistonheads, Autotrader, SN, SIDC, etc for the past wee while!! :D

Greig, sorry to hear the car isn't running right, whats up with it? From what you said, if he gave it a wash then it might feel a bit quicker after losing all the mud and dirt its picked up over the past few months since its previous wash!! :P

Cheers,
