at long last im getting my car back after 6 weeks off the road, some people may have seen the thread bottom end died after getting a new turbo, well had an sti bottom end fitted after speaking to david at api also had an uppipe vf35 walbro fuel pump injectors and intercooler, sorry saying its back but dday is wednesday cant wait it like being 10 again waiting on christmas. looking for about 330 bhp after the map on the dreaded rolling road again, i think that that is plausible started saving for a gear box already though hope to see some of use at a few meets soon

Yep you don't realise how much you like your car until you don't have it! You should be ok around the 330/330 mark with your 5 speeder unless the car has a hard paper-round. It's actually the torque that kills them. I managed to dispatch my 5 speeder but was running 401 ftlbs of torque and that was on the 'stronger' TY54 type box! The 6 speeder is holding up well (so far)

Cheers

the mapping is getting done at extreme again, but when ive got the funds i will give Aforrest a shout, but to be honest i dont think that had any thing to do with the problem

I remember Reading your original 'disaster post' and could only feel gutted for a fellow scoob owner. I'm glad you've made bad scenario into a good one.

Crossing my fingers for you! Keep us posted.

Oh and save up some pennies for some brakes and suspension!!!

Good man. Hope you have a lot longer of trouble free driving to enjoy its new lease of life. As said unless the gearbox has had a hard life that power/torque should be fine.

Speaking to David at api again today the bad news is I've to stay below 4000rpm for the next 1000 miles which is torture when I've just upgraded the turbo etc but will try my best to do that in a week or so, after that the run in oil gets changed out and filter then I'll find out how good the vf35 is compared to the td04, thank for the coments see use at the next meet

first impressions are all good its even harder to stay under 4000rpm with the light weight flywheel and the new clutch will take a bit of getting used to but will be putting the miles in asap!!!!!!!!
