rig-pig Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 where you get the blackfire stuff from m8
C_WRX Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 The black always comes up nicest !! I'll refrain from putting my "glass-like" pic up as think everyones seen it - but may upon request . The blackfire is very good on but I feel it is a product that needs a lot of topping up to keep it performing to its best, so if you're the kind of person that will keep on top of the cleaning and not afraid of adding wax once a month (at least) then go for it....it is what I use on mine ! . I buy mine from Polished Bliss. My advice is Wet Diamond AFP underneath then at least 2 coats of midnight wax. Make sure you clay as well, you said you know how so well worth doing. Is it just me or are folks getting in to the cleaning the car stage just a little early this year...it's still barely getting above freezing and the roads are filthy !!
birnie55 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 totally after a quick wash tghe car is caked again in 10 mins lol but its lookin sweet just keep it in the drive untill u must take it out lol
wrxmania Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Is it just me or are folks getting in to the cleaning the car stage just a little early this year...it's still barely getting above freezing and the roads are filthy !! Mine is going in for a "winter" detail tomorrow - light machine polish and as much protection as it will take before any major correction work in the summer. Brian
scoobykev Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Rig-pig, Did i pass you tonight in between wellbank and Kellas? Certainly passed a black blobeye, just didn't catch the reg plate.

You will probably find that putting 2 coats of wax on the car and the polish is quite time consuming as you will need to strip off any of the wax from the previous time (As you explain by claying) before applying polish again. Do you clay your car once a month? My advice is if you are a monthly cleaner and you only want to polish then i would just go for the Blackfire polish and the matching Deep gloss detail spray so each week you can wash, dry and give a spritz over with the spray and then once a month polish. The other thing about the polish is it is so easy to apply and even easier to take off
C_WRX Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 You will probably find that putting 2 coats of wax on the car and the polish is quite time consuming as you will need to strip off any of the wax from the previous time (As you explain by claying) before applying polish again. Do you clay your car once a month? Maybe misleading what I meant originally. It is the wax I top up on, not the Wet Diamond AFP sealant. Haven't used their polish, although believe is good for masking swirls (I go for blackhole for masking, Menzerna when correcting) and bringing out a nice glossiness pre sealant or waxing. The wax works for me being a little OCD with the car cleaning malarky, just personally don't find it quite as long lasting against other products. Does leave a cracking finish though which is why I have it on my car. Their gloss spray is also good, as you noted, after a wash and a lot quicker (obviously the wax has been done previous to needing a wash). Oh, tough trying to resist putting a pic up
C_WRX Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Oh no, really, I couldn't !.... .....Oh, okay then, just a couple (aplologies to those bored of seeing these numerous times before) 6months after machining and just after a quick wax top up, was actually just trying out the new SLR.
rig-pig Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 very nice m8 i hope to get mine like this but i will wait till the warmer weather for the clay
