rallyfever Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Hi All, Just found this on Pistonheads and had to have a wee chuckle. In top Gear talk "Some say that £65,000 has been spent on this baby, some say - where abouts????" http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1384403.htm I think I will trade in my new Citroen Dispatch van here and say I spent £60,000 putting in a C4 WRC engine - he may give me £20k for it!!!! Theres hope for everyone out there now trying to sell theire cars - head to Parkway Cars!!! Gary
bmwhere? Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Lol, that's pretty bad! What I really don't get though, is why someone would use a limited edition WR1 as a donor car for such a project. There is nothing WR1 left about it apart from a dash of Ice Blue paint under the bonnet. If you're going to mod a car, mod a standard one, not a limited edition!
BalliSTIc Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Veilside front end? Not a fan m'afraid. If it has a saving grace, it's that it lacks a dodgy rear spoiler!
C_WRX Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 £65k, really !! Did that including insurance costs for a 17 year old in that build price.
fai17 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 where did he spent 65k Its a standard engine LOL and a bolt on turbo!!!
cullenmin Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 where did he spent 65kIts a standard engine LOL and a bolt on turbo!!! Thats what I was thinking
BalliSTIc Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Veilside front end? Not a fan m'afraid. If it has a saving grace, it's that it lacks a dodgy rear spoiler! Oh aye... it's Chargespeed, not Veilside. Sorry, didn't read down that far! I reckon the 65K was what he paid on insurance!
scouk Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Quite like the gills on teh front wings, but can't see anythign special about the rest of it TBH.. If you're going to mod a car, mod a standard one, not a limited edition! 100% Agreee!! Don't like it when peopel put silly mods onto special edition.. Upgrade brakes and maybe a remap if you must but it was special before hand, all your doign is destroying what was special about it in the first place! IMHo
bobbyc Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 kind of wasted a good WR1 if you ask me, a few of the standard mods on a WR1 would be sufficient... say's me, I hope I don't get slagged off for wasting my GB270 lol anyway the final mod is on it's way Santa's got a wee K-sport upgrade to help it stop a bit quicker
scouk Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I hope I don't get slagged off for wasting my GB270 lol anyway the final mod is on it's way Santa's got a wee K-sport upgrade to help it stop a bit quicker LOL! actually you've doen a crackign job with yours.. Looks great and you've kept the GB### theme by adding your own GB340 branding. Looks sweet and still looks like a manufacturers Special edition! Rather than an aftermarket one off job ... Strange how sometimes you can get away with that....
Hightower Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 yea this has had a fair old slating on the wr1oc what a waste of a good car.
notsosmall Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Not a fan of the styling mods at all And as others said just a waste of a WR1
p1ggm Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 i like the colour erm thats about it, why oh why did anyone think that kit would look nice
the_ex_leper Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 must have been £1000 an hour labour for the work lol
x444wrx Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 what a complete waste of a good wr1, if i had 65k to be throwing around like that it would have been better off going into an overfinch range rover sport or something like that no way did all that work cost 65k if it did they saw him coming and had their dick turpin masks on!!!
mic Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Maybe he spent all the money trying to get 18inch tyres to fit 19inch wheels?? 19" KAHN ULTIMATE INDIVIDUAL ALLOYS 225/40/18 HANKOOK RS-2

gordi82 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Whats even funnier is that a mint WR1 would fetch as much as he is asking for one he has spent 65k on what a waste of a great car.
