BalliSTIc Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Was nosing around under the dash (as ye do!) and pulled down the fusebox cover (down beside where driver's right knee would be)... Only to find a funny wee gizmo on the back of it... no camera today so no pics m'afraid, but the beastie in question is about 2x5cm with a load of buttons 0-9 plus the usual * etc. Looks like a mini calculator without the LCD display. Thought it was CLEARLY an explosive device of some sort (or might have some such an effect on the car - eek!) so didn't fiddle... just wondered if anyone knows what it is... or whether I'm being bugged by MI5 etc! Will try and get pics if someone doesn't beat me to it. But, thoughts?

G-ManUK Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Sounds like the keypad for the alarm system mate.Cheers Iain Agree with Big 'D' - on my hawkeye, that's the pad for putting in the alarm/immobiliser override code if you have to open the doors manually with the key... (if the battery dies in the remote)

BalliSTIc Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Read yer owners manual! But... but.... but.... ...But... THAT would involve EFFORT! *lol* I kinda thought the manual thing was a GIVEN... I just thought BJM was onto something else of further interest that the wider hatch community might benefit from. Oh well... *sigh & chuckle* Edited December 16, 2009 by BalliSTIc

bobbyc Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 (edited) The key pad's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard as the only time you'll need it you will no doubt encounter short term memory loss & ask yourself oh F*** what's that code again as people passing by give you strange looks & say what's that thieving git up to Edited December 17, 2009 by bobbyc
