stum450n Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Right, business time methinks. Hopefully it's down to pre-Christmas belt-tightening but the attendance at the monthly meets from Oxon members has been somewhat lacking of late (as I'm sure you've all noticed) - last Sunday's meet being a prime example. Now, seeing that the monthly meets are for you guys I thought it would be worth asking if you've any comments or suggestions for the meets going into 2010... Obviously we'll continue to do what we do with events, mini-meets and the like but I wanted to know if you're all getting what you feel you should be from the monthly static meets? Just to be clear, I'm not looking to change anything, I just want to make sure you're all still enjoying being part of OSC and SIDC as a whole! Cheers, Stu
Rick N Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Oooh could we combine some with us lot from Bedfordshire?
andysti78 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I would like to come to some meets but at the moment I have no money so Kidlington is a bit far to justify travelling. Once Highway insurance have paid me a shed load of money I'll be able to come to a meet on the moon if you'd care to arrange one (If they give me enough I may even be able to mod my car to a level where it could actually leave the earths atmosphere!)
Big 'D' Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Perhaps worth having a poll to decide what day and time of the day is most popular for to hold the meets and we could plan out the meets in the new year according to what feedback we get. Cheers Iain

I am not going back to Sturdys as it was not really the best pub in the world for the meet, food or service. My plan as always was to have a pub meet to arrange an event for the coming month so that we could break the mould of just having 12 meets a year in the same place, I feel I have to point out that we cannot hold any events if no one shows any interest, no one puts names down or even worse have people pull out last minute causing a cancellation, I only say this as this seems to be the trend. If you want more events, shows and karting etc etc then show an interest, get your names down and make the effort to show up on the day then these things will happen, it is easy to make suggestions the hard part is getting everyone to take part. All for it mate its just getting people to commit that is the issue, we really need people to commit to these things and it is not happening. Cheers Iain

I really hope things get better , like I said its really easy to post up suggestions etc but these ideas cannot and will not work without the backing of the members. Cheers Iain

Ian and I tried this is October Rick for the Japshow Finale at Santa Pod but despite the initial show of interest getting members to commit to it was a different matter entirely.

Also i'm suprised a lot of people are put off travelling to other regional meets. e.g A mate of mine drove from Norfolk to a meet down here a couple of weekends ago. For me nothing like a few of you driving along to a meet someone taking loads of pics. Obviously depends on commitments which is understandable. Maybe my downfall is to much time on the Yankee sites where they'll travel 2 days to a big show. Oh weather is a factor to. Maybe in the summer head over to a Wales meet and camp the night? Inexpensive and potentially a good laugh
