Getting nervous huh !

I've not had this stage upgrade done but i have looked in to it indepth.

Reckon the quality and fitting of the parts would be the main reliabilty concern - if they're good and you're using a garage that knows what they are doing then bar a possible minor small tweak (garage or mapper should advise)should be okay.

As per the remap if it is AndyF then you're in very good hands there.

The power going in to your car for gearbox/clutch is fine. Unless you drive it hard everywhere or track it frequently should be okay. It's the next turbo stage up (e.g. TD05-20g) that would be more of an issue for a WRX box.

I'm getting all the work done at extreme motorsport in Whitburn they are Subaru/evo tunning specialist there show car is a 900bhp evo and I've had a map done there before so I should not be worried but I would be lying if i said I wasn't nervous about it

i thought extreme were evo yes but scoobs? only ever really heard of them doing evo`s

and to be honest i don`t believe John to be any good with ECU tunning on a scoob.

fair enough them fitting parts but do the right thing and get the ecutek done by Andy Forrest

one more important thing the uppipe with sensor?

take it you mean a decatted one? and that the sensor is the egt one?

if so and extreme know what they are taking about you shouldn`t fit that sensor as the increased temp in the gases will cause the cel light to come on as the car knows you have removed the cat.

The dangerous bit tho is that the tip of the egt sensor in the uppipe can get too hot and is known to break off and take your turbo out if your very unlucky then shrapnel from this could take your engine too.

Don't worry about the fitting work being done at Extreme.

George who will be doing the work, was working on Subaru's long before he worked at Extreme and started with EVO's. That was over 10 years ago, long before most people on this site owned a Subaru.

For the mapping, I would agree with the others. We have the best Subaru mapper in the business on our doorstep, crazy not to use him.

you should ask the question over on the MLR if they will let you, that is

not sure what the story is but last time someone stuck there details up they were taken straight down by admin as they were banned or the like.

like to add my boss has used them for years on his evo`s and never had aprob .

as for the uppipe don`t put the sensor in just put a blank in the hole and where the sensor plugs in up next to the drivers side strut mount disconnect and place sensor in garage then stick a 2.2k ohm resistor in the plug left over this tricks ecu into thinking the cat and egt are fine.

i have a load of the resistors here if you want one feel free to come get one

quick edit David is right George is a **** hot mech and you will have no hassles with fitting he does.

whoops

get it fixed and take it to Andy F they don`t fly him all over the world to map scoobs for no reason and extreme are evo guys

from what iv heard and saw John is a nightmare on that rooling road all behind closed doors not the first car to go in running fine and come out fooked

Could just be bad luck but I'd always stick with a scooby specialist for work and mapping.

Must say Extreme were very professional at the RR day we had a couple of years ago, talked to him about working on and mapping scoobies and said he would do up to about 350 anything over was more a specialist tuner.
