siharris Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I've taken this from the Xtreme site, looks like the servicing for scoobies is getting scare in the south east ? Anyone got an alternative to Xtreme ? http://www.xtremescoobies.co.uk/ WITH IMMEDIATE NOTICE Within the last few hours negotiations for the continuation of Xtreme Scoobies has broken down. Unfortunately, finances could not be raised to meet the repayment of 2 investors. This leaves Xtreme Scoobies, technically trading as an insolvent Company. Therefore, the decision has been made to voluntarily wind the Company up, whilst still meeting customers’ needs that have booked in with us; though no further work will be booked in. Xtreme Scoobies would like to thank all its customer’s over the last 7 years for using our services.

My concern is there a lots of back street scoobi guys but do they have the years of experience and wont stiff me, the dealers aren't much better especially if you rock up in a classic 97. Want to up my brakes and get the cam belt changed any thought about Waldonway ?

HOL Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 They are trading as Extreme Scoobies now in the same place with Paul but not Knowlesy, think most people know my views on them so i won't be visiting the new business I stopped using them when I found that they were taking ciustomers cars home at night. Does anyone remember what happened to my car after the Xmas meal at Ace of Spice 2/3 years back? - Well combine the two situations and guess what type of phone call I received!!!

Could I take a guess that you got an unexpected call with your car stranded somewhere other than their garage?
HOL Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Could I take a guess that you got an unexpected call with your car stranded somewhere other than their garage? pretty much. The blackjax system locks the car when your revs rise above tickover (to simulate pulling away). Whilst de-icing my windows with the engine runnIng, there was a sudden peak in revs and the doors shut me out. Poor old Qdog waited 40mins next to my running car whilst his date drove me home to get my spare set of keys. I always wondered why my petrol dissapeared if I ever left the car with them! I kept quiet as other people were very happy with them and I didn't want to spoil it for them. But now it's all over I can tell.
matthew_buckland Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 We as a family have had 7 cam belts changed by extreme, all have been done quick and efficient and no problems, obviously they have never been there for any length of time and no major work undertaken, all i can comment on is the fact i was happy with there cam belt changes.
paul_dyson Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Been away for a few weeks and totally missed this. Must admit I always had excellent service from them and, for one, am sad to see them go.
deani_age Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) I used them once, for a clutch replacement and to find a knocking fault nearside front. They replaced the clutch, and charged me for a replacement flywheel (said mine was unserviceable). Charged me £10 to replace an exhast nut and bolt that they said was seized. Couldn't find the fault (which happened to be a loose nut on the suspension top plate, and which Deano666 found within 1 minute) Quoted me around £450.00, bill came to over £650.00. Flywheel, nut & bolt, additional labour etc.... Edited November 30, 2009 by deani_age
